Joan Rivers Drops F-Bomb on Girl Scouts

According to the Orlando Sentinel, Joan Rivers dropped the F-bomb at the Girl Scout "Women of Distinction" fundraiser. She even joked that Paris Hilton didn't earn her "Wearing Panties" Patch. Hah!!!

I've read that some uppity attendees found her routine rude and disrespectful. You know what? They need to get over themselves. These easily-offended people knew Joan Rivers was performing. And just in case they hadn't caught any of Joan's colorful act over the last fifty years or so, there was a warning that this was for "mature" audiences. There was even an awesome quote from historian Laurel Thatcher Ulrich: "Well behaved women rarely make history!" Check it out for yourself below:

Don't hire Joan Rivers if you don't want a Joan Rivers show! She will be foul, colorful, funny, rude, and look like she's walking through a wind tunnel. And at some point, she will offend everyone in the room. If you don't like that, don't go. Get over it, people!

Jayne Brown Wigs Out!

While I was on "vacation," Jayne Brown made the decision to give up the wigs for good! In case you've been as out of the loop as me, here's a video of Jayne au natural ...

I think she rocks it! Plus she's with Jay McCarroll who I just love, love, love. I'm once again sucked into another season of Project Runway.

DeMentri ... in the News Room ... with the Hair Dryer!

Apparently Pat James-DeMentri's soon-to-be-ex-husband, Vince DeMentri has been all the talk in the Philly area this month.

Vince is an anchor for NBC 10, but according to Philly.com, he has been off air since July 3rd. He allegedly vandalized (i.e. keyed and broke into) morning anchor, Lori Delgado's car. Also, he allegedly took her purse, hair dryer, and curling iron form the news room (the property was eventually found--not sure where exactly). Vince and Lori used to have a "particularly close friendship." I'm not sure if they were good friends before or after his separation from Pat last year.

It doesn't look like he will be facing any charges even though they supposedly caught him on surveillance tape doing those alleged deeds. As of right now, he's still listed on the NBC 10 website as an anchor, but odds are that he won't be for much longer.

Vince DeMentri seems to have a bit of a history of anger management issues. According to Newsday.com, he was arrested shortly after 9/11 for impersonating a federal officer. He said he was an agent for the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms in order to gain access to sealed-off areas. (You can read a detailed account of his interview with two Port Authority police officers who survived the collapse of the towers here. These officers were the focus of the Oliver Stone movie, "World Trade Center.")

Then in 2006, Vince was suspended after an altercation with weather anchor, Glenn “Hurricane” Schwartz. DeMentri was standing in water up to his waist while reporting on a flood and was admonished for his unsafe behavior on-air by Schwartz. When DeMentri got back to the studio he screamed and physically threatened Schwartz for embarrassing him on the air.

So, from what I can tell, the guy is just a macho, egotistical jackass prone to throwing temper tantrums ... allegedly.

Today's Blue Plate Specials ... Flaming Hot!

The QVC TSV is a Candle Impressions Indoor/Outdoor Lantern with Candle & Timer. Oh, how I loooooove flameless candles. Not that I don't like the flaming kind, but they are a tad dangerous around cats, dogs, kids, and especially husbands! In fact, I was just telling Mr. Queen Bea how I needed a truckload or two of flameless candles for the new place. Queen Bea's credit card will be smoking today, chickadees!

The HSN TS is the Wei East Restore Resurface and Renew with Golden Root collection. I know that Wei has a bit of a cult following, but I've never personally tried her products. Her Eyes Alive is on my list to try though! I checked out her Wei East Golden Root Renewal Daily Restoration Wear and discovered that it had a 4.6 rating with 86 reviews. That's Holy Grail Fountain of Youth Magic Potion good. Wow!

The ShopNBC OTV is a pair of 14K White Gold 0.50ct Diamond Hoop Earrings. For about $200, these are ok, but they aren't doing it for me. I don't like all the cutouts on the back. I realize that they want to make the earrings lighter and use less gold to keep the price down, but the design makes it look like another another pair of earrings entirely.

There is a 15% off online only sale on Croton and Invicta watches that ends today and $1.99 shipping on gems and silver.

Suzane Somers Pulls it Off

In case you missed it ...

Can you believe that she's in her sixties??? Wow!

I'm Baaaaaaaa-aaaaaaack!!!!!!!!!

Just like Chevy Chase in National Lampoon's Vacation, Walley World was closed for two weeks and ruined all my big vacation plans. Ugh!!! So, instead of riding roller coasters or relaxing at the beach, I spent my vacation moving. And just in case you weren't already aware, MOVING SUCKS! I'm exhausted. At least most of it is over with and I didn't have to strap Aunt Edna to the top of the car.

It's gonna take me a bit to sort through my stuffed email inbox and get some posts up again. I missed so much! Suzanne Somers flashed her underwear to everyone and Christmas already came and went ...

Vacation!

Queen Bea is sorta kinda going on vacation for the next two weeks. Not a fun one, mind you. I'm in the process of moving--really moving, not moving to another web address!

Posts will be sporadic at best, but I should be getting back into the routine soon!
Happy shopping, chickadees!!! :-)

Today's Blue Plate Specials ... Sweaters in July!

The HSN TS is Andrew Lessman Calcium Intensive Care & Glucosamine-1500. Oh, how I love Andrew Lessman! Let me count the ways ...

I think that Andrew and his products are the greatest thing since fake diamonds (and that is quite the compliment coming from Queen Bea!!!) I just placed my order for more Circulation & Vein Support for my husband. He started taking this when he got a clot the size of a golf ball in his leg after having hernia surgery. Not only did it get rid of the clot, it completely got rid of his painful varicose veins. Gone.

If you need vitamins, do not hesitate to get them from him--do not pass "Go," do not collect $200 (well, go ahead and do that last one, but be quick about it!)

The QVC TSV is a Prepology Microwave Grill Pan with Press & Steamer Lid. From the live demonstrations, it looks like this actually works, but I'm just sure everything will come out dry and chewy. Microwaves never cook well, chickadees!

I'm holding out for the reviews on this one. You never know, I might be pleasantly surprised. Maybe it would be good for defrosting evenly even if you don't cook in it???

The ShopNBC OTV is a WD.NY Fashion Jeweled Neckline Cardigan Sweater. First, it's not a watch! I don't have anything against watches, but ShopNBC was becoming the watch network.

So now, ShopNBC is doing sweaters in July. Considering that they were all about the leather in June, relatively speaking, this makes sense. It is a little warmer in July, so you might have to pack up the leather and breakout the sweaters. Maybe it's all that cold Minnesota weather that's messing with their brains.

Tova: "It's Like Giving Up a Child."

Here's an interesting article from the New York Times about Tova:

"It’s like giving up a child,” said Tova Borgnine, the founder and chief executive of the Tova Corporation, a cosmetics and fragrance company now owned by the televised home shopping company QVC. In March 1977, Ms. Borgnine, who is married to the actor Ernest Borgnine, started a mail-order company in Los Angeles selling a perfume called Tova Signature.

By 1987, she had 65 skincare products and 80 employees. In 1990, she began selling her wares on QVC, and 12 years later QVC bought the Tova brand for a seven-figure sum. Tova Signature is QVC’s top-selling perfume.

It was, she said, an accomplishment she was proud of, but still an adjustment. “In a massive corporate structure you have bureaucracy that you must be able to get through,” said Ms. Borgnine, who divides her time between Beverly Hills and Malvern, Pa., near QVC’s headquarters. “All of the products are the same as when I created my company; I’m in on every strategy meeting, but now there’s a collective voice. That’s a luxury, but you’ve also got to be able to let go.”

Here is what QVC President/CEO/King Mike George had to say about the smelly Tova Signature controversy.

Is everyone satisfied now or are there still noses out of joint???

Today's Blue Plate Specials ... Mizz Lustra Knit

QVC's TSV is a Susan Graver Lustra Knit Metallic Beaded Tunic & Pants set. The QVC power that be have heard us ... free shipping! All the people rejoice! This set comes in 4 colors and is made out of something she calls Lustra Knit, which is supposed to be stretchy and comfy but not cling (but sounds like a super fabulous drag queen name to me). The reviews for her other Lustra clothes are mostly good. However, it ain't my thang, chickadees! Also, Susan can be a little ... umm ... difficult to watch at times. Glad she's offering petite though! Check out the other free shipping offers here.

The HSN TS is The Look by Randolph Duke 4-piece Wardrober. This comes in 4 colors and you get a jacket, tank, pants, and skirt all made out of a "soft stretchable polyester knit." Randolph needs to come up with a catchier name! Look at Susan Garver with her "Lustra Knit." You don't hear her calling it a nylon/spandex blend! On the surface this looks all mixy-matchy, but I would always end up wearing the pants, tank, and jacket together. I'm not much for skirts. I guess this probably would be good for traveling light though.

ShopNBC's OTV is a Sterling Silver / Platinum & 18K Vermeil Opaque Ruby / White Zircon Ring. I will start with the positive: this ring has a beautiful under gallery. Unfortunately no one but you will see it! The rest of it looks ... well, meh. The plating and the design look cheap. I don't have a problem with opaque ruby, I just don't like it to be faceted as if it were a clear ruby.

The Beautiful Side of Home Shopping

This is a post I read on The Other Side of 40 blog. It's a sweet, simple story about the writer's mother and her QVC jewelry. I can't help but think that years from now, my child could probably write the exact same story about me.

Yes, home shopping can be cheesy and we all like to poke fun at it, but it really can touch people's lives for the better. This is a beautiful example of that.

Thank you, Nancy, for sharing your story.

Beautiful Mom

Mom loved jewelry. She loved it so much that she literally had boxes and boxes of different rings, earrings, necklaces. I think one of the reasons she bought so much jewelry is because that is one of the few things she indulged in as an adult, after spending a childhood in extreme poverty.

From stories she told, it was a hard life when she was a kid, clothes were either made out of flour sacks or else she and her brothers took whatever handouts were given to them. So if clothes were hard to come by, how much more so an extravagance like jewelry?

She really didn't start collecting jewelry until we kids were all grown. I remember her "Sarah Coventry" and "Indian Jewelry" phases. Then after that it was a store that she an my aunt frequented called Best and there they started buying gold and silver jewelry. When QVC made the scene on TV and started having the jewelry shows, Mom had found Nirvana. Her jewelry collection grew and grew and it was fun to see her get so fired up about "Black Hills Gold Night" or some other QVC special.

Leukemia didn't stop Mom from buying jewelry. QVC remained on her phone's speed dial and I remember some great moments, sitting with her and watching those shows and commenting on the different jewelry. Even after being forced into retirement by illness, she still loved to wear her jewelry and there would be times she would sit in her recliner, wearing her robe and whatever the newest jewelry was that her mailman had brought to her.

I am glad she was able to fuel her passion for jewelry because it gave so her so much pleasure and made her feel so elegant and beautiful and after a childhood of poverty and a life of many sacrifices, she deserved it. I only wish she had been more willing to get her picture taken, I would love to have a photo of her in that pink robe and all her jewels.

Jay King of Turquoise!

There has been an ongoing controversy over the Jay King turquoise: block, stabilized, real, fake, and otherwise. You can read my recent post about the situation here.

I emailed Jay's company, Desert Rose Direct, and asked them what exactly block stabilized turquoise was. They were very kind and emailed me a detailed explanation of the process.

I think this should put everyone's concerns to rest.

Dear Bea:

Thank you for taking the time to write in and ask your quesiton. I am so glad that I am getting the opportunity to share with you the below explanation.

Only 100% genuine turquoise nuggets are used.

The 100% genuine turquoise nuggets are pressed under tremendous hydraulic pressure.

This pressure is applied when the nuggets are in a frame called a "block."

The frame is very thick steel as it must withstand tremendous pressure.

Turquoise gets a little softer when soaked in water, this combined with the natural moisture in turquoise allows for what actually takes place as the extreme hydraulic pressure is applied.

The nuggets actually mold around each other creating larger pieces of turquoise. When the moisture dries out, they keep the same formation, which in this case is typically referred to as a "block" as this is the term for referencing the frame they are put in to receive the hydraulic pressure.

At this point, the genuine turquoise nuggets, which have molded around one another, due to pressure only, are dried and stabilized in the exact same way as any turquoise rough.

The stabilization accomplishes the same thing as it does with any turquoise that is stabilized. It helps to maintain the color and avoid the changes that can occur from skin oils, exposure to soaps, etc.

The turquoise we use in our designs that is processed in this fashion/manner is all 100% genuine turquoise and by the time it has been hydraulically pressed and stabilized it is just as all other regularly stabilized turquoise with respect to the ratio of stabilization products in the final result.

By weight only about 1%-2% of the finished material is the stabilization products. 99% of the finished material is genuine turquoise. This is the same as when any piece of turquoise is stabilized.

Possibly the term "optically clear acrylic" is an option to describe the stabilization products/chemicals.

Again, what is used to stabilize the 100% genuine nuggets after being hydraulically pressed/molded together, is the exact same as what is used to stabilize non hydraulically pressed turquoise, of any shape or size.

I am sorry for the confusion!

Please let me know if you have any more questions or need an more information! Have a wonderful Wednesday.

Thank you again for your time.

There you have it, chickadees!

Today's Blue Plate Specials ... Oompa-Loompa Strikes Back!

The QVC TSV is a Sterling Turquoise Nugget Stretch Bracelet with Heart Charm. Considering that I don't much care for turquoise, hearts, or stretch bracelets, this isn't really the piece for me.

If you're a gold girl, make sure you check out the Last Chance Eternagold. With gold getting more and more expensive, it's been a sad state of affairs lately for gold lovers. I'm guessing that since QVC has a policy of not raising the price past the QVC price, they have to retire a big chunk of the Eternagold line and bring in similar items at a higher price. This would be the time to grab them!

The HSN TS is TanTowels Tinted On the Glow. So I looked through the reviews for other TanTowel products and they were b-a-d. Really bad. Even people who used to like them, now say that the new ones are terrible. I don't think that we should encourage the hosts to get any more Oompa-Loompa anyway.

The ShopNBC TS is Invicta Women's Pro Diver Swiss Quartz Stainless Steel Watch. ANOTHER WATCH!!! How many watches does a person need? I refuse on principle to discuss another watch OTV. Hmph.

I will, however, mention that there is a big clearance on watches going on at Jewelry Televisio, which includes free shipping! Check it out here.

Mally's Witchy Ways

Doncha just love Mally Roncal? Queen Bea admits to having a bit of a girl crush on her. No, not in the dirty way ... in the I-want-to-be-just-like-her-when-I-grow-up way.

She has this amazing positive energy that reaches through the television and not only makes me feel better about myself, but also inspires me to do more.

How does she do that, chickadees? She's only presenting makeup products. What kind of witchy powers is she using on me? Queen Bea is bewitched, bedazzled, and bewildered!

Anyway, did you know she was studying to be a doctor before chasing her dream and becoming one of the the most sought-after celebrity makeup artists? Everyone wanted that glowing, dewy look made famous by Jennifer Lopez and Beyonce ... and that was all Mally.

In case you haven't seen them yet, here's an adorable picture of Mally with her twins (look at those chubby babies!!! I could just eat them up!!!):

Mally was on the CBS Early show yesterday helping ladies keep their pretty faces from melting off in the stifling summer heat. And you know what? She even recommended a Laura Geller product! Gracious, smart, charming, successful, beautiful ... *sigh*

You can watch Mally "Motivational Speaker" Roncal tonight on the Q. :-)

Sensa Week One Update

Honestly, I'm just going to have to staple the Sensa container to my forehead so I don't forget to use the stuff. Here's the problem: I'm a grazer. I'm not a three squares a day kind of a gal. This means I have to be armed and ready with my sprinkles 24/7 in the event that an unforeseen nibble or nosh attacks me as I walk through the kitchen. I swear this happens!!!

I have found that using them consistently on everything is the key. Don't be shy about it! Even if it's a small snack or a healthy, low-calorie meal, you have to keep using the stuff in order to feel satiated throughout the day. That's really what you're paying for--feeling full on less.

Oh yeah, and sprinkles on M&M's just doesn't work!

Let Go, Let Go, Come on In ...

Have you been diggin' the new HSN promos? Got that song stuck in your head all day? I love the new promos and love that song by Toby Lightman. I also think that it's awesome that HSN is working with an independent artist (Toby releases her albums on her own label, T Killa Records).

With the music industry changing so rapidly, artists have to think outside the box to get themselves and their music noticed. This was a great partnership and I hope HSN works with other artists in the future. The new album, Let Go, is dropping July 15th and you can catch Toby live on HSN later this month.

If you want an autographed copy of the album, Toby will be autographing the first 400 copies of Let Go and making them exclusively available through her web store for only $12.

What Toby said about the new album, "This album led me back to the roots of why I started singing and recording music in the first place. So, Let Go was recorded the very same way Little Things was recorded. Boots (the producer of the record) and I, sat in a room, and literally played everything. From the guitars to the violins to the keys... I did have my old friend, Coach, lay down an amazing groove on the drums. We put our hearts and souls into this record and i can't wait for everyone to hear it"

Take a listen here:

Today's Blue Plate Special ... Crafty Scrappers

The HSN TS is a 3 Birds Exscrapaganza All-in-One Craft Kit. Alright all you scrappy croppers ... and even you beginners ... this set makes scrapbooking easy. If you are never sure how to layout a page or what looks good together, this set coordinates everything for you. And the price is great for what you're getting.

I used to scrapbook, but then I ended up spending waaaay too much time, money, and square footage on the project, so I had to give it up. It was like an addiction. I will probably delve back into it one day. Lord have mercy! I'm gettin' the shakes just thinking about breaking out those decorative-edge scissors and the acid-free adhesive.

The QVC TSV is a Supreme AeroBed Twin Raised Bed w/Hands-Free Pump. Having the bed at about the height of a regular bed is nice, although I can't imagine that I'd make my eighty-something grandmother try to sleep in one! It inflates itself with a built in pump and even has an indentation so you can tuck your sheets in.

I looked through the reviews for other Aerobed products and it was really hit and miss. However, the real problem is that if you have one of these beds, your relatives might think its comfortable and will come and stay with you longer. Ack!

The ShopNBC OTV is a Nourison "Garden Aubusson" 5' x 7' 9" Wool Rug. If this is really a good quality wool area rug, then $117 is a great price. Wool rugs ain't cheap, chickadees!

R.I.P. Candy Baby

Queen Bea is soooooooooooooooooo sad. :-(

Candice Kumai, the Paris Hilton of home shopping hosts, seems to have "disappeared" from the HSN host page. Check it out for yourself here. ... See? No Candice! Right now, she's still on the schedule for July 9th and 10th, but I'm sure that will change soon enough.

Candice was the most entertaining hot mess of a host since Sheila Johnson.

*sigh*

Check out one of my favorite Candy clips here. And my initial "super friggin cute" impression of her here. Queen Bea called it first!!!

The Fur is Flying on HSN!

Per PETA, HSN has adopted a new and permanent fur-free policy. HSN will also donate all leftover furry items to PETA at the end of the year for use in their anti-fur campaign.

In a letter to PETA, HSN CEO Mindy Grossman wrote, "We and the customers of HSN share your concern about the treatment of animals in the making of fur products. As such, we no longer purchase any product that uses real fur, a strict policy that went into effect in the first quarter of this year."

ShopNBC, of course, refuses to give up the fur. If you are against the use of fur, take a few seconds to send ShopNBC an automated message urging them to follow HSN's lead by dropping fur once and for all.

I don't always agree with PETA's tactics, but I love animals and agree with them on this ... fake fur is fabulous! Come on, even Joan Rivers gave up real fur!

Go HSN!!!!!

Today's Blue Plate Specials ... So Fabulous

HSN's TS is a Jay King Mine Find Green Turquoise Sterling Silver "Mystic Mountain" Necklace and Earrings Set (with matching bracelet while supplies last). At $99, this is a deal, chickadees!!! I'm not even a big turquoise fan, but this color is rocking (yes, I know it's enhanced, what isn't these days?)

I applaud HSN--this is how you do a bargain. Jay did address the recent controversy (you can read about it here) during the midnight TS kick-off show. I'll talk about that in a separate post later. Go Jay!!!

QVC's TSV is a Kathleen Kirkwood Set of 2 Stretch Lace & Silk Camisoles. They look beautiful and the silk one is really made out of silk (what a concept). I love the full lining and the long length ... my muffin top needs to stay under wraps, y'all! Why are camisoles normally cut so short?

Those snappy doodles to hold in the bra straps are a great idea too. The reviews on her other products look good, so if you're in the market for some camisoles these are "so fabulous!" Don't you just love the captions under the picture? That came straight from the Q, I swear it wasn't my doing!

ShopNBC's OTV is a 14K Gold Emerald, Ruby or Sapphire & Diamond Pendant with Chain. $800?!?! I'm not feeling it. Wow. As Barbara Bixby said on QVC recently, I'd rather have a small, beautiful amethyst, than a big, ugly emerald. Amen, Sister Sledge!

Nolan Miller's Dynasty

Here's a little blast form the shoulder-pad past ... an interview with Nolan Miller about how he designed and produced all those sought-after fashions on Dynasty. If you forgot, or it's before your time, everyone wanted to dress like the Carringtons. So are you a Krystle or an Alexis? Queen Bea is Alexis all the way! Joan Collins rocks!

Nolan Miller 1985:

In case you didn't know, Nolan Miller has established a $50,000 grant for lung cancer research. You can read about the recipients here. Although others feel differently, I think that Nolan is looking a little better this visit. I hope he's doing well.

Today's Blue Plate Specials ... Shopping in High Def

The HSN TS is a Gateway 22" HD LCD Dual Core, 1GB RAM, 160GB HD Desktop Computer with TV Tuner. Does this mean I can watch TV on my computer? Will my Tivo hook up to it too? Queen Bea loooves her Tivo! I'm guessing that there will be lots of high definition deals on HSN since they are launching HSN HD in 2009 (and they've spent "multimillions" on the necessary upgrades).

As to Gateway ... well, I've heard that they brought all their customer service jobs back to America, which it great, but I've also heard terrible things about dealing with that very customer service. I don't know, chickadees!

The ShopNBC OTV is ... guess what? Another watch! Again. What's with all the watches ShopNBC Powers That Be??? That being said, I actually kinda like the Invicta Women's Limited Edition Glitter Glam Baby Lupah Watch Set. For $80, you're getting a decent quality watch with four different leather straps, which are supposed to be easy change.

The QVC TSV is a Haier 19" Widescreen High-Definition LCD TV w/ DVD Player. Since QVC HD launched earlier this year, be expecting many, many HDTV's being pushed on us. This TV seems fine enough, but I don't see how it's a TSV. I found it cheaper here and here and here and here (the first two had much cheaper shipping too!

The point being is that the Q needs to pay attention to their name and offer a little extra Value--like including that 2-year Premium Product Protection for free instead of charging $46.84 or maybe not charging $22 for shipping.

And don't forget to vote for your favorite jewelry design at Jewelry Television. Today's the last day. Vote here.

Lisa Robertson's Big Idea

Our Lisa was a guest on The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch recently to discuss the new art of selling--something Lisa is very, very, very familiar with!

Lisa's bottom line advice?
"Never lie ... ever, ever, ever! Never lie, you're always toast. Always tell the truth." (I love, love, love how she still spoke in triplicate!)

Check out Donny playing QVC host here. Honestly, I didn't think he did too badly. I've definitely seen waaaay worse. Quite recently, in fact.

I couldn't find a clip of Lisa's main interview, but if you skip to about the 7-minute mark on the one below, you'll get to hear Lisa talking about how she relates to us customers without being face to face.

Wonder Twin Powers Activate!

Like the blind leading the blind ... the entertainment just never ends when the girls come out!

Jay King Deal Find

Item: 301-213
Olive Jasper Sterling Silver Beaded 3-Strand 18-3/4" Necklace

I am so tempted by this ... normally priced $129.90, but now it's on clearance for $69.95 (with two flex pays too). And the reviews are through the roof. The one nay-sayer (there's always one, isn't there?) complained that it's too heavy. Umm ... unless you have a medical condition that weakens the neck, that's not a bad thing, lone negative reviewer person.

Today's Blue Plate Specials ... Suck it Up!

HSN's TS sucks! Sorry, lame, I know. I just couldn't resist. Anyway, the TS is a Dyson DC07 Upright Cyclonic Vacuum Cleaner with Accessories. Dyson has a cult following and is supposed to be the greatest vacuum ever. The only complaint? It's too powerful. Oh dear, Queen Bea might accidentally vacuum up the cat.

QVC's TSV are Ryka Slip-on Quilted Mesh Skimmers. These look sooo comfy (and cute--especially that burgundy one). And they come in wide width. Praise be! Queen Bea's pork chop feet appreciate that! However, $39 seems a little on the expensive side for some slip-ons.

ShopNBC's OTV is a pair of 14K White or Yellow Gold 2.00ct Diamond Inside-Out Hoop Earrings. The diamond quality is about one step away from being a drill bit, but I like the earrings--they look stylish and well-made.

But, honestly chickadees, you should really just save the $999.96 and get yourself some fake diamonds. I have a pair of white gold Diamonique inside-out hoops that are fabulous and I've heard the Hollywood hoops are to die for.

Celebrity Home Shopping Addicts (Not-So) Anonymous

This "blind item" was posted on a gossip blog recently:

What does this female talk show host/ B list actress enjoy doing on her weekends more than anything? How about sitting in front of her television all weekend and ordering jewelery from home shopping channels. Thousands and thousands of dollars worth. And the funny thing is she doesn't really wear any, she just likes the shows and buying.

You can read my original guesses here.

The answer was finally revealed to be none other than ... Whoopi Goldberg!

First, I take issue with the B-List description. Whoopi is NOT B-List. She won an Oscar, people! She was in The Color Purple (Queen Bea looooves that movie)!

Second, since she reportedly doesn't really wear any jewelry, Whoopi needs to send some of that loot in Queen Bea's direction. For reals!

Dooney Deal Delight

I have been known to poke a little fun at Dooney & Bourke on occasion (check out the Rainbow Brite review here). But this little deal at the Q ain't too bad, chickadees!

This Dooney & Bourke Signature Quilt Small Duffel Bag (item# A83326) is at a While Supplies Last price of $118.56--not cheap, but a good deal for a relatively big Dooney bag with real leather trim. It's still available in four colors: avocado (love!), pink, black, and brown and it's infinitely better than that horrid Rainbow Brite purse!

Hurry! Supplies are limited! ;-)

Today's Blue Plate Specials ... Land of the Free Shipping

The HSN TS is a Vivitar 5MP Digital Video Camera with 1GB SD Card and Case. This seems like one of those cameras that are good for the family vacation at Dollywood, but not much else. It does have free shipping though! Free! HSN is having all kinds of sales, specials, and coupon codes this holiday weekend. Check out Queen Bea's coupon code page here.

The ShopNBC OTV is an Acer 15.4" AMD Athlon 64 X2 1.8GHz Notebook, iPod nano & Skinits with Rebate. Queen Bea uses an Acer laptop! I can't say that our relationship hasn't had it's ups and downs, but we're making it work. And there's free shipping! Like HSN, they've got all kinds of sales and specials, so check out the coupon page.

QVC's TSV is a Sport Savvy Stretch Jacket, Tank & Crop Pants with Mini Check Trim. It's cute and looks comfy, but I can get something similar down at Target for waaay less than $40 (plus s&h).

And don't forget, Fenton is back today! I've heard that they are having to make some pieces out of the country, but the items I saw on the Q's website were all Made in the USA. Of course, as usual, QVC doesn't have any specials, sales, or coupon codes going on for the holiday. They couldn't even offer free shipping.
