Sensa Sprinkles on HSN

I heard many months ago that Sensa was going to be on QVC. So either my sources were wrong or something fell through with the deal. In any case, I did get a chance to try the Sensa Sprinkles.

Check out Queen Bea's Sensa Sprinkle posts for my reviews of the new diet craze. Just click on this link and scroll down. There are lots of posts on the subject.

Why did I stop using them?

Honestly, I moved and lost them! However, they have since been found, so I might start sprinkling again. Anyone want to do it with me???

On a personal note, my poor son, who just got over Step throat, woke up this morning throwing up. I feel so bad for my little man.

Sensa Week One Update

Honestly, I'm just going to have to staple the Sensa container to my forehead so I don't forget to use the stuff. Here's the problem: I'm a grazer. I'm not a three squares a day kind of a gal. This means I have to be armed and ready with my sprinkles 24/7 in the event that an unforeseen nibble or nosh attacks me as I walk through the kitchen. I swear this happens!!!

I have found that using them consistently on everything is the key. Don't be shy about it! Even if it's a small snack or a healthy, low-calorie meal, you have to keep using the stuff in order to feel satiated throughout the day. That's really what you're paying for--feeling full on less.

Oh yeah, and sprinkles on M&M's just doesn't work!

Just a Sprinkle a Day, Makes the Fat Go Away!

All you have to do is shake some Sensa sprinkles on your food and you will lose weight!

That’s the claim anyway.

Although I personally find this a little hard to believe, QVC is betting on it working (or at least selling!).

According to the Sensa website, when they tested the product on 1,436 people, they lost an average of 30.5 pounds in 6 months without changing their diet or exercise plan. Now as impressive as that sounds, they could have stacked the deck by using more men (who lose weight faster) and using chubbier people (who have more to lose). I don’t know. Seems too good to be true.

The sprinkles, developed by Dr. Alan Hirsch of the Smell and Taste Treatment and Research Foundation, are supposed to work by intensifying the smell and taste of food, which helps suppress hunger and tricks the brain into feeling full. So, ultimately, even though you can eat whatever you want, you end up eating less of it.

The long term effects haven’t been studied yet. And anyone who’s been on the weight-loss roller coaster knows that it’s harder to maintain the weight loss than lose weight. What happens when you stop sprinkling? Do you become a sprinkle addict???

So what’s in these magic sprinkles anyway? They certainly aren’t going to give that information away since they are sitting on a goldmine, but they do say that they are made out of artificial and natural ingredients approved for use in food by the FDA.

There are two types of the non-caloric sprinkles: the salty ones for savory foods and the sweet ones for the sweet stuff. And although flavors like cheddar cheese, mocha, horseradish, strawberry are in the mix, you aren’t supposed to taste the sprinkles once they are on your food.

I must admit that even though this looks highly suspect, I’m intrigued and tempted to try it. If you’re interested, you can go ahead an order it here or wait until it’s on the Q in a few months.

Is this a Shake-n-Fake or the real deal? Should I give them a try???
