I am sooo tempted ...

Mr. Queen Bea has been wanting a new HDTV for some time now. And from everything I can tell, QVC's TSV is a great deal--a brand name TV for the price of a no-name TV at Wal-Mart.

Here's the specs:

Even though it's on 5 Easy Payments of $159, it's still hard to part with that much money. I'm probably gonna sit around hemming and hawing all day until it goes on wait list. Ugh!

Two things are holding me back: 1) they don't tell you the exact model number, which makes accurate comparison shopping difficult, 2)the shipping and handling is ridiculous!

Will I kick myself tomorrow if I don't get this???

These Studs are Breakin' Records and Takin' Names

Remember when QVC had that Honora pearl earring stud set as the TSV recently?

Turns out that they sold 287,500 sets, breaking the all-time TSV sales record (I believe the old record was a Dell product).

I remember that they were selling like crazy all day (literally, they were flying out the door!) and I just kept waiting for them to run out, but they never did. I can't even imagine how many of these they ordered.

QVC lived up to its name with this one: it was a name-brand fashionable product, a good price, free shipping, buy more-save more, and a versatile enough of gift to work for everyone from a little girl to a big granny. Quality. Value. Convenience. What a concept!

I thought about ordering these, but I haven't had much luck with Honora. I've had to send back everything I've ever ordered due to quality issues. I understand that these pearls aren't going to be perfect, but huge pits and cracks just aren't gonna work for me. However, this particular set has gotten rave reviews. I think it's because these are only 7mm-pearls, whereas I'm always trying to get a string of boulders around my neck! The bigger they are, the harder it is to get them in a decent quality.

QVC Powers-That-Be, please try to do more TSV's like this one. Learn, grasshopper, learn!

For the Forbidden Love of Fake Diamonds

Oh, how I loves me some fake diamonds! QVC is kicking off Diamonique Week with a big ol' blingy bang. Wow! If this bracelet wasn't $300--yes, you read that right,Three.Hundred.Dollars.--I would be all over it.

*Sigh* I think I'll just be crying on me keyboard all day.

Creede Rocks the Bracelets!

It's Creede Silver Strike Day on the Q!!! I love jewelry and I love silver, so I certainly have no problem with an entire day dedicated to silver jewelry!

After looking through all the Creede pieces, I was most struck with the bracelets (and I'm not just talking about the TSV either). Normally I'm much more of a ring and earring kind of a girl, but the bracelets were clearly the stars of the day.

The TSV is an Arte d'Argento Sterling Multi-gemstone Charm Bracelet. I love just about anything Arte d'Argento, but I'm sure we'll soon be hearing stories of beads falling off the bracelet (or arriving already broken). I always worry when a manufacturer has to make enough of something for it to be a TSV. If you have to make 10-20,000 bracelets (I have no idea how many they have), I'm guessing that the quality is naturally going to slip a little. Although I have to admit, it does look like it would be fun to wear and jingle.

Scrapping Round Up

The scrappers are all abuzz on the web today! It's a scrappers paradise on the Q.

I went through a scrapping phase and I loooooove to scrapbook. Love it! The problem was that it took over my life. It became this all-consuming obsession for me. I had to stop cold turkey. I still have my supplies tucked safely away and I hope to one day scrap again (oh yes, I will scrap again!), but for now, I have to keep a safe distance.

Possible Tacori TSV???

Could this ring be the new Tacori TSV for 6/15/08? Is it part of the new Crescent Collection? I wonder what that stone is? Whatever it is, Queen Bea loves it!!!

I have had bad luck with Tacori pieces though. The Diamonique stones seem too white or something and the metal is way to bright. I can't figure out what they are doing wrong. I love the designs though.

I love, love, LOVE B. Makowsky purses (as Lisa R. would say), but this one is all but gone, gone, gone. I wasn't awake at midnight to see the kick off and sell out of this purse. Black is the only color left this morning. I looked through the other purses and there are slim pickings.

I love the feel of high-quality leather (QVC description: finest glove leather: supple, smooth, and unbelievably buttery soft ... I'm dying here!) and the look of cool leopard-print linings.

I love that the whole set can be washed and dried without having to haul anything to the dry cleaner (Queen Bea does not take well to hauling much of anything) and the 310 thread count is respectable enough.

I can't pass judgement on the coverlet without feeling it. I love quilts and this one looks nice, but you never really know until you run your hand over it for yourself. If it feels nice to the touch and really launders well, the prices for an entire sheet and coverlet set are pretty good.

As Lisa Robertson would say ... love, love, love! Queen Bea really loves a big, bold yellow gold hoop and these are fabulous! Even though the Q probably just worked the cost of shipping into the price so they could offer it for free, I still appreciate the pretense.

What Queen Bea Says: Queen Bea loves to watch Adrienne because she's sooo entertaining; however, it's hard to take beauty advice from a lady that's pulled tighter than the Queen's control top briefs after a night at the all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet (Yes, I'm looking at you, Joan. But really I love you even more!). Her products always look greasy to me, but that could be just the way they show on TV (hmmm ... perhaps Queen Bea does need a 46" HDTV).

The one product that consistently gets raves on the product reviews and on all the message boards is her meltdowns--they smell like dessert and melt away all the dirt and makeup n your face. I'm thinking that if you want to try this line, that would be the place to start. Enter the word "meltdown" in Queen Bea's custom Google toolbar--which only searches the home shopping networks--to find them.

Another thing I love about Adrienne is that she uses models of all ages. For reals, y'all! Everything from knee high to a grasshopper to older than dirt. Queen Bea will freely wave her magic remote wand and change the channel if some stupid vendor tries to sell the latest miracle cream by demonstrating it on a dewy 18-year-old model. Ugh!

And in case you didn't already know, Adrienne is really Adrien Arpel--but she can't use that name on HSN.

What Queen Bea Says: Not exactly a glamorous TSV! Hard to put the Lisa Robertson patented "old money-Madison Avenue" spin job on this one. Most of the reviews I read were positive, but there were a few nasty fish burps along the way. Honestly, I don't think that you can make a fish oil product and not have some nay-sayers--we are talking about fish oil after all.

What Queen Bea Says: I loves me some fake diamonds! This, however, is not my favorite. The channel setting is nice since prongs snag everything but money and men, but I don't like the little X's on the sides--just seems to cheapen the look. Plus, when you wear two of them, you definitely aren't going for the "look of real." You might luck out and score one diamond bangle, but you sure as heck aren't going to buy two exactly alike. They should have made them different for a more real look.

Part of this is my personal dislike of bangles. I love the look and the cool clanky sound they make, but I have the worst time navigating throughout the day while wearing bangles. I bang them into everything (hence the name, huh? Never thought about it before!) and rack up alot of damage points. For this reason, I will only buy super cheap bangles ... as in clearance at Wal-Mart cheap. But if you fair better than me with bangles and aren't particularly looking for this to pass as "real" (I personally don't think that all of it has to, but some are very persnickety about that), this could be fun to wear in the summer with a cute little sleeveless top. I certainly don't have the arms for that look, but if you are so blessed , then more power to you. And I am sooooo jealous!

What Queen Bea Says: These are some big mamer jammers! Wow! The pendant measures 2-9/16"L x 1-9/16"W with carat weights between 170 and 223. This is not for the shy or faint of heart. The ring measures 1-9/16"L x 13/16"W and has a setting height of 1/4" with carat weights between 32 and 41 carats. So this would not be an everyday type of ring for most people. It is a statement ring, which, to me means that the rest of the outfit has to work around the ring as opposed to the usual way of looking at accessories as complimenting the outfit. However, even though these pieces are huge, they are clean. Not lots of frills and crazy designs. I think that balances out the size. Also, the Offerings collection is know for their goddess faces and other unique designs that might be too much for some people. This could be a great way to try out the collection. I personally have never bought anything from Offerings, but not because I don't like their jewelry. I just haven't been about to settle on something. Right now I'm leaning towards getting a really big Druzy piece because this Queen loves to sparkle!
