Sly "Hearts" Jennifer Flavin

Did you know that Sly Stallone got his wife, Jennifer Flavin, tattooed on his arm? Not her name, y'all! He got a picture of her face. Very handy if you accidentally forget your photo album at home.

Here's a closeup:

Now that's love. Getting someone's name inked on is one thing, getting a huge color portrait is another thing entirely. What can he do if they break up? Draw a mustache and glasses on the picture with a Sharpie? Jennifer might be his third wife, but I'm pretty sure she's his last one too!

I have to wonder if he used her Serious Skin Care Olive Oil line to help with the tat healing. It's supposedly good for burn victims, surely it's helpful for tattoo victims too.

The Hunt for Wolfgang Puck's Sausage

Janice, Janice ... she just doesn't have a filter, does she?

You know, I just realized today that Janice used to be engaged to Sylvester Stallone who is currently married to SSC's Jennifer Flavin. I wonder how Jenn and Janice would get along backstage at HSN???

Not only were they once engaged, but Janice also thought that Sly was the father of her daughter until a paternity test proved otherwise. And as recent as this year they were in a public fight in the tabloids over Janice accusing Sly of not only doing steroids, but also injecting her with them too!

Oh, to be a fly on the wall!!!

If Lovin' You is Wrong Then I Don't Wanna be Right

So, here's the thing, I'm having a bit of a moral dilemma. During Diamonique Week, I ordered this ring. At the time, it was on sale for $22, which ain't too shabby for a $48 ring. And, as you all know, I have a forbidden love of fake diamonds--a love of which I can not speak in public--and I had been wanting a yellow stone for quite some time.

I'm no Jennifer Flavin Stallone, I will never be able to afford an actual canary diamond (of any size and quality that I would be willing to wear anyway). Besides, even if I could afford such outrageous bling, I would have more important things to spend my money on.

After reading the glorious reviews online, I decided to give this particular ring a whirl since the price was right.

And let me tell you, there is nothing quite like waiting for the UPS man carrying a little brown bag filled with something sparkly to get me through the long work day. Just a small something to keep me going.

Here's the thing, the yellow center stone is to die for. Gorgeous! It doesn't have that "fake look" at all. I even tried it in various types of lighting and it never failed to shine. However, the two side stones are terrible. Not only are they cloudy, they have a dead spot, which I believe is due to the way they were set. I might have been able to look past that considering the price, but then the prongs started attacking me and snagging my clothes. Those things are deadly!

Between the dead side stones and the deadly prongs, I have no intention of keeping the damn thing.

But here's where the moral dilemma comes in, do I keep it for a few months just for the fun of the beautiful center stone before sending it back or do I just ship it off now? The return policy does give me until the end of January. Technically I'm not doing anything wrong. In fact the hosts even encourage this behavior all the time!

Why-oh-why does it feel so wrong then?

Do other customers buy products during this extended return period knowing full well that they have no intention of keeping them? ... A home shopping loaner program of sorts.

In defence of keeping the ring longer, I still have to pay shipping. I deserve a little something for my trouble. Don't I???

BTW, the responses to the On-Air Testimonial question have been great! Please keep them coming. I will be posting your reactions soon.

Queen Bea's Death Bed Confessions

Alright, alright … I admit it! I caved. I’m weak. So sue me. While I was suffering with the creeping death plague flu, I accidentally—allegedly--bought the Serious Skin Care Today’s Special on HSN.

It’s not my fault though! My lips were chapped, my nose was raw, and my eyes looked all sunken and sallow. I was horribly dehydrated. Normally, aside from the infamous T-zone, I’m as dry as the Sahara Desert (as Lisa Robertson at the Q likes to say), so being sick was just adding kindling to the fire.

And all day long the lovely Jennifer (Flavin Stallone) kept talking about all the rich moisture and luxurious hydration I was going to enjoy with the her Solutions for Dry Skin Olive Oil Kit. And it was only like $14 to get it home and I could always return it, right? Plus, if you sign up for auto-ship, you get free shipping. I am a sucker for free shipping. And I can always cancel the auto-ship. Jennifer even said I could.

For goodness sake, I wasn’t thinking straight. My brain had been replaced by mucus and a nice lady on the TV was explaining how she had the answers to all my problems in her Holy Grail of olive oil products. So, yes, through my haze of sickness I somehow managed to correctly order the TS. They do make ordering easy, don’t they?

Props to HSN, I got my order yesterday morning.

Here’s the thing though. So far, I love it! Especially that Omega 3 serum. I have no idea if it fights lines and wrinkles since I’ve only used it twice, but it does hydrate. My extremely dry face is now … dewy and soft. I have never been dewy or soft. If I could bathe in this stuff, I would.

The shower cream and the body lotion are both good. I haven’t had a chance to try the mask yet, but it’s supposed to leave my face smooth and supple, which will go quite nicely with dewy and soft.

The replenishing oil and the cleanser are both good, but squirt all over the place when you push down on the pump. I know Jennifer doesn’t like to spend much on packaging, but trying to hunt down the product on the bathroom counter is rather annoying.

The facial firming pads are good. My face feels tighter, but I don’t break out in hives or get all red and blotchy as my dry and sensitive skin is prone to do. The top ones will dry out, so I would recommend storing them upside down.

The squalane is interesting. I don’t think that I could use it if it were shark squalane, but this is from olives. The roller is good and bad. Sometimes it just gets stuck and doesn’t want to roll so you have to push down really hard or try to get it going with your fingers. It also smells bad to me—sort of a strong floral scent. I hate floral scents, but that’s just me. I decided to just use it on my fingernails. Like my skin, they are dry and peal all the time. Maybe this will help. I don’t know yet.

I don’t care for the ugly purse that came with it, but I’ll give it to my niece or something. The subscription to Self will be nice too.

All in all, this is a great kit—especially the omega 3 serum. I’ve heard complaints about the smell, but I don’t think the olive oil line smells bad at all. If you like the smell of olive oil, you probably won’t mind these products.

A Royal Pox

Sorry for not posting these last few days, but Queen Bea and her royal family have all come down with the creeping death or the plague or something (possibly just the flu, whatever). My brain is barely functioning, in fact, the mere act of holding my head up has become a triumph of will.

On the plus side, I have had more time to watch mindless television. At this red hot moment, Jennifer Flavin Stallone almost has me convinced that I need all that olive oil for my dry skin. I'm feeling very dehydrated.

Jennifer Flavin is 40! Seriously!

Serious Skin Care diva, Jennifer Flavin Stallone rocks the bikini while on vacation with her husband, Sylvester Stallone, on the Spanish island of Ibiza on Aug. 4, 2008.

She sure makes 40 look good! But I seriously doubt she sells anything that'll make me look like that in a bikini. I'm gonna need a hell of a lot more than some Correc-Chin and InstA-tox to lift my derriere!

According to ABC news, "Supermodel Kate Moss was also spotted on the island (she owns a home there) sharing a smoke with the "Rocky" star."

Today's Blue Plate Specials ... China Gold (No, not the Olympics!)

The QVC TSV is a Kodak All-In-One Printer, Copier, & Scanner 3.0" Diag. LCD. Although I've had my share of issues with Kodak, this looks good. My only concern is the price of the ink. It seems like the ink always costs more than the printer!

The Q has some great Sample Beauty Offers. Check them out here.

And the Joseph Esposito customer choice design was unveiled today. You can see it and his other new items here.

The HSN TS is an Everyday Gold by Michael Anthony 14K Glitter Diamond-Cut Rope Necklace. It still upsets me that this line is no longer USA Gold because they couldn't keep the manufacturing in America. I understand that the price of gold has gone through the roof and they had to cut costs ... but at what cost? So much of the products sold on all the channels are Made in China, it was refreshing to find an entire line proudly Made in America.

Don't forget, today is the last day to get 20% off SSC in celebration Jennifer's 40th birthday.

And there is a new contest: the Summer Sizzlin' Kitchen. Enter for a chance to win HSN gift cards, $25,000, or a trip to Las Vegas.

The ShopNBC OTV is a Marble Top Accent Table. This looks really nice and it has great reviews. This is definitely the type of product that ShopNBC (and Margie!) does well.

A Star is Born!

So I found these pictures of Sly and the kids a few weeks ago. But I didn't put them on the blog because I wasn't sure if Jennifer wanted her kids to be in the public eye. Hey, Queen Bea is a mom too!

However, last night when I was watching Jennifer on HSN (there is just something about Jennifer's SSC presentations that just sucks me in every time), her oldest daughter, Sophia, made quite the appearance! In any case, now that I know that Jennifer's ok with her kids being seen, I thought I would share the pictures. They are so cute! And Sly is so buff! Enjoy!

According to Celebrity-Babies.com, "Actor Sylvester Stallone, 61, and his two youngest daughters -- Sistine Rose, 9 ½, and Scarlet Rose, 6 today -- were spotted out and about in Beverly Hills, CA on Saturday, May 24th. Mom is Jennifer Flavin."

In case you missed it, here is Sophia's big debut. :-)
