Keurig is King!

Queen Bea was sooo naughty yesterday! I have been lusting after a Keurig ever since my Bunn coffee maker decided to leak more than it dripped. Now mind you, I've been watching all the Keurig shows on the Q religiously and nearly had a caffeine-induced nervous breakdown when it was the TSV a few months back, but I stayed strong and resisted.

Yesterday was the last stir straw. I had no more will power left.

But I didn't get it from QVC. Nope. I didn't want that silly little mini, personal, wanna be Keurig they had as yesterday's TSV. No, ma'am! I wanted the big daddy. I took a little trip to Sam's Club and came home with my brand new baby. Check it out:

I love my Keurig! I've had it less then 24 hours and I'm already a spoiled rotten little gourmet coffee brat. I want my cup organic, free trade, dark roasted coffee and I want it now! No one should have to wait for an entire pot to brew. How pedestrian.

In all seriousness, I am the only coffee drinker in my household, so something like the Keurig--while certainly still a luxury--is much appreciated. Not to mention the way those soft blue lights illuminate the water tank is nothing less than magical. *sigh*

  1. Welcome to the Keurig club!

I got one last year for my birthday (asked for it) and I love it. I then gave one to my parents for Christmas (the people who have everything and want for nothing) and they LOVE it. They say it is the best gift they've ever gotten, which is hilarious. Now, they've had to buy one for my brother as he has been stopping by their house every morning for coffee!

My personal favorite is the Gloria Jean's cappucino....

  2. I am glad that you like your Keurig, I would love one myself, but last year I chose the competitor The Tassimo. I would love to have both, (now thats BAAAAD), anyway I chose the Tassimo because at the time it was the only one that would do milk products for lattes, chai tea, etc. The Tassimo chai tea is absolutely killer. Anyway, enjoy your Keurig, my Tassimo has kept me very happy.

  3. I bought one at Green Mountain Coffee about a month before it was QVC's TSV. I couldn't make a decent cup of coffee on a bet, so this was a godsend. I also joined their Coffee Express club and get 24 k-cups per box for $11.95 and have them automatically sent 4 at a time w/free shipping. It's the best.

  5. I bought mine (from Keurig online) a DAY BEFORE the first Q's TSV offer ... and I love it. Queen Bea, you will never stop drinking coffee now, so load up on the hot cocoas and the decaf K-Cups ;-)

  7. I'm British so excuse me if this seems bizarre, but how can a machine that makes less than half-a-pint at a time possibly cause such desire in a nation addicted to Coffee?? It's way too much green, for not enough brown.

  8. Michael, Micael, Michael ... you must give the Keurig a try. Come on. You know you want to. Everybody's doing it! ;-)

True, it does make coffe--or hot chocolate or tea (earl grey is my favorite)--one cup at a time, but it makes it in less than a minute. If there is anything that us Americans love more than coffee, it's immediate gratification.

  9. Queen Bea is right, Mike. Why do you think we stand in front of microwaves and scream "Hurry up!"

  10. As an inveterate coffee drinker, I have a question for the Keurig lovers. See, I drink a BIG cup of coffee. My mug is like 16 ounces. I'm guessing the Keurig won't fill it up at all, right?

  11. You know, Mirhanda, if you absolutely don't feel complate without a pony keg of coffee in your hands at all times, than this might not be the coffee maker for you.

You could make several cups and fill up your BIG cup, but it just doesn't seem like it would be worth it.

Anyone know where the absolute best deals are on those k-cups?

  12. Thanks, Queen Bea. I didn't think it was for me, but I wish it was. Maybe they'll come out with a jumbo model for those of us who practically need an IV infusion.

  13. Someone tell me about the clean-up involved on one of these things! Thanks!

  14. Gale my dear, there is NO clean up! That's why a Keurig is better than a man.
