Sara Blakely, Spanx Founder (and size 2 with no back fat!)
On QVC's AM Style this morning there was this new Spanx bra--more specifically, the Spanx Bra-llelujah Full Coverage Front Closure Bra--that is supposed to combat back fat. And while I'm totally down with waging a war against back fat, I have two problems with this. 1) $62 for a bra (plus s&h and taxes) is waaaaay too much, and 2) I have a general issue with buying "body shaping" garment from Sara Blakely who is probably a size 2. How can she possible understand back fat???
I haven't tried the original Spanx, but I have tried Sara Blakely Assests at Target and I didn't have any luck--the waist was too big and the thighs were practically being severed in half. Going up or down a size wouldn't help, so I just took it back.
BTW, Lindsay Lohan flashed her Spanx at the MTV Movie Awards. Hey, at least she was wearing underwear!

I can't watch that little twig trying to sell shapewear. I like Rhonda Sheer on HSN. She looks like she needds to smooth and shape.
ReplyDeleteI previously purchased the Bra-llelujah and was one of the most uncomfortable garments/bras I have ever worn and it really did not solve any of my back fat problems. It went back immediately. I did however recently see a new bra/shapewear garment on TampaBays 10 news called the Unbelievabra (by Shapeez). While more then I usually pay for a bra, I decided to give it a try. Ladies, I have to tell you it is an amazing product. I was very skeptical and given the price, it had better work miracles... it did, and it is so very comfortable. I practically wear it every day and have since purchase a second one. It lives up to their claims and then some. I hope to see them on HSN sometime in the future.
ReplyDeleteThe last time I tried any kind of body shaping undergarments was for my high school prom--what a disaster! Everything rolled to my midsection.
ReplyDeleteYeah, if you're a size 2 (which I doubt she is... looks more like a 0 to me) you can shape all that extra skin and cinch in your ribcage. But the rest of us are probably better off hanging out everywhere. Give me some cotton Granny panties!
I would have to agree with the ladies that say the Spanx isn't all it's cut out to be , mine tend to roll up my thigh and the waist also rolls up , for the money this product should atleast stay in place!Its just not that comfortable either and going to bathroom , what a drag !!!
