Bob Bowersox Coming to ShopNBC

Ever since Bob Bowersox suddenly left QVC with only a short hostage goodbye video, he has become quite the thespian and screenplay writer down in Key West--but we haven't seen hide nor hair of Bob in home shopping land.

But nobody puts Bob in a corner!

Keep your eyes peeled for Bob to make his first appearance on ShopNBC Thursday of this week. After that, he'll be making regular weekend visits. Key West to Minneapolis ... that's quite a commute.

  1. On Thursday there are several Kitchen-Gadget shows on SNBC, so likely he will be a Rep for someone's gadgets. Guess following one's dream of being a playwright and actor does not pay all the bills. Bob is doing what he has to do, to make ends meet, just like the rest of us. Good Luck, Bob !!

Still, I wonder what he did that was so appalling to get him fired after such a long time on air and so immediately, too? THAT'S the story I want to read about!

  3. How much of that crappy wen hair goop do people need ? Geez you would think that weird guy has a cure for cancer!

  4. Most likely Bob Bowersox was let go because he earned too much money. Also, he's in his late 50's or early 60's. QVC probably thought he was getting too old to be on the air.
And QVC started reading their own message boards.
I wish him well. I enjoyed his presentations.

  5. Let's see, they let the ever lively and decidedly popular Charla go. No more McCoys (my favorites). And Daniel Green is great at the kitchen shows. I wish Bob well, but simply do not understand some of SNBC's business decisions.

  6. The guy that runs SNBC is from QVC, so I think he is trying to make it into what the Q used to be like. This means hiring all of the old hosts back. I wonder if we will be seeing Kathy L. soon.

  7. now if only thunder thighs reilly would leave.

  8. I've always assumed Bob was let go because he has enough dignity not to make "Yum-yum" faces like a trained monkey every time he eats something on air.

  9. from what was posted early on, was Bob had an annoying attraction for a another host, and she reported him.

Geez - I can't even GUESS who? None of them seem worth a fatal attraction to me

  11. Supposedly, it was Patti "Tacky" Reilly... Shop NBC is turning into QVC more and more each day...Even the graphics are similar... But when are they going to do what the "Q" did a few years back and update all of their sets??? Some of Shop NBC's sets look worst than ones created for a High School theater production... I absolutely HATE Daniel Green, and I miss Charla... All of their good vendors have defected to HSN... Every day it gets more worse...

  12. I think that is great they our bring in some talent and class to the show, boy they need it there, the host our clueless and hopeless

  13. If only Shopnbc would get rid of that Melissa chick and her condescending tone and full on fakeness the one with the voice that can make ears bleed Lynn, they would get some customers.

And, too bad Bob didn't get a full time Shop gig, that Dave guy from the Q is a total turnoff.

  14. Have to agree about Melissa and Lynne. Lynne claps her hands togather alot, like a trained seal and I'm always tempted to toss her a sardine. As for Melissa -- she came to Shop with much fanfare about being a GG - graduate gemologist. How in the world can she sell that Kwap jewelry now -- I've lost all respect for her opinion.

And I wish they'd get rid of Chatterbox Kimberley Wells -- another ear bleeder!

  15. I did watch Bob on SNBC presenting a Sharper Image oven (I think a cross between a convection/microwave.) He did a fine job and displayed alot of the same enthusiasm he had "back in the day". I wish him well.

  16. Yikes, be nice everyone..Bob Bowersox did not deserve what he got. The Q needs a boost: believe me, I am a big shopper and even I am BORED TO DEATH with the same products.
However, having said that, I do have to also add that if it weren't for the Q, I would not be able to find any decent clothes to wear. Also, I TRUST them when I buy jewelry. They DO have high standards for quality and I like that.

  17. Rumor has it that Patti cost Bob his job. She wanted out and asked his advice on how to do it without the non-compete, etc. When she asked him, she put him behind the eight ball. He was obligated to tell QVC and didn't. When they figured it out, he was gone and Patti was off the air for quite a while. That is why she was so cagey about staying or going and Bob was gone in a flash. My source says they were looking for a reason to can him and he gave them a good reason to do it. Connect the dots.

  18. I always thought Bob's biggest downfall was that huge EGO. If QVC was looking for a reason to get rid of him my guess is they were tiring of the pampered chef and the hoops he continually had them jumping through.

  19. Saw Bob in Superfresh in South Philly yesterday and approached him. He could NOT have been ruder. When asked if he "was" Bob Bowersox, he answer was: "I used to be". Did he have a sex change???? Give me a break! He is NOT ALL THAT!!!!

  20. I think Bob had reached a point where he was bored and needed a change. He was starting to be rude with the callers and terminate the calls before saying good-bye, and I think after his divorce he wanted to move on. I was a little shocked however when I realized that Dave King was gone. I always thought he did a good job and was professional, so I wonder what happened. I do think he and Lisa R. might have been an item for awhile. He is the only man I have ever heard her mention about having lunch with and so forth. The male vendors that fawn over her are gay, so she feels safe canoodling with them.

  21. Whenever Patti R is on QVC I change the channel, can't stand her. Now I know why, after reading the comments about her and Bob's situation. Bob is a professional and deseved better. QVC should can Reilly.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I agree Reilly should go. I have seen her interrupt Leslie from Bare minerals over and over. Can't believe QVC don't can her. When she is on and Jane Tracey, I do not watch. Can't take Jane's ears and hips. She goes on and on about being a Ballet Dancer. please!

  23. Has anyone noticed Rick D. cuts people off quickly from phone calls on QVC?

    ReplyDelete
  24. Rick D always cuts a caller off if he doesn't deem them entertaining enough ; if you are not gushing over the product he is bored with you ; some common sense by the caller is needed however ; if you don't have much to say, why stay on the line?

  25. I miss the good old days at Shop NBC with Charla and Karen.
