Word going around the beauty parlor is that Judy Crowell, former host at HSN and QVC before that, will be back at QVC as a host as soon as her non-compete with HSN runs out. Supposedly she's already working at the Q behind the scenes.
Here is a tiny bit of vague confirmation from Paul and Judy's webiste:
Sorry the site has not been active as of late. We had hoped to have some concrete news to announce previously, but some of those plans have fallen through. Like just about every other segment of the economy, the shopping channel industry has been hit pretty hard. We are still cautiously optimistic about a few opportunities. We hope to announce Judy's plans soon, and if they come to fruition she can appear on air after April 15th 2009. I did complete the book on opals and began to write a new book on Tanzanite. Hoever, it does not make financial sense for me to print new books until I have a comittment for an outlet to sell them. I may have a different opportunity to speak of (not on a shopping channel), but I cannot divulge until the deal is finalized. Once these plans become more concrete I promise the site will be updated more regularly.Paul Deasy

How interesting - I never thought I would see the day that a home shopping channel would take back a host that worked for the opposition! How interesting! Just goes to show ya that the more things change, the more they stay the same!
ReplyDeletePaul Deasy worked first at HSN, then at QVC, and then at HSN again. Now his wife, who worked first at QVC and then at HSN, may come back to QVC. The Power Couple of TV Shopping !! I love them both.

Ah pass. I didn't care for her at QVC, nor at HSN since it seemed she was just slumming. Then she gives them the toss and only when the economy goes to sh*t, decides that selling on on tv is ok after all. QVC should've just told her no thanks. I bet the salary they will pay her could equal what a few other new hosts could make and/or numerous support personnel keeping more people employed and not rewarding someone who already gave you the big take a hike by going to work for the competition!

I really think the drama and the jocking for the top position ought to make for quite a show! Will there be more weight loss, how about more botox? QVC must be desperate to open their doors to former hosts that went on to be hosts at HSN. I wonder.....could we have Mike Rowe back, he's a hoot!

I would be very happy to see Judy back at QVC. I think she is very nice & classy. Everyone has their own opinions about all the hosts...I just wish they could keep their negative comments to themselves. As I'm sure they wouldn't like the negative comments about themselves.
ReplyDeleteI do like Judy. She is very professional and keeps that 'workout' figure. It's an example for the rest of us! It makes sense that Q would take her back, because she left just to get married....not her fault. Then, when the other job dried up, Q took her back. I don't blame them. She's a winner.
ReplyDeleteI would love to see Judy back on QVC. I think she was just too polished for HSN and can't imagine she was happy there. I think she has a wonderful voice, too. If she does return to QVC, I can only hope some of their newer hosts will learn from her, e.g., you can sell a product without being shrill, antsy and overbearing. But, hey, that's my opinion. 8-) Maria

ReplyDeleteFor some reson, he decided to only leave one of my emails to him,,guess when you ask "tough" questions that need a truthful answer, people find it easier to delete.. :)
It doesn't matter,i just hope whatever they decide to do, they have more interest than they did in this last adventure they tried.
How do you put up a site and expect people to be interested when its never updated,,
I do like Judy a great deal, won't be surprised if she does show back at the Q, thats some revolving door they have there and seem to be very understanding as well.

DeleteI, for one, have always thought of Judy as a true lady with a lot of class and self-respect. I have watched her since she came on the scene from CVN to QVC, and she has always been respectful to others and down-to-earth, NEVER snotty as other hosts/hostesses I have seen on home shopping channels as I have been watching for years.
ReplyDeleteI do wish Mike Rowe would come back to QVC!! I remember when he was on in the wee morning hours, and he was hilarious!! very funny, never a dull moment with him, but he does great work on Dirty Jobs, though...don't think he'd want to be back shopping!

ReplyDeleteActually Judy worked for CVN first, then came with MBR & Dan Hughes to QVC. I can understand their move to HSN due to Paul's family being in FL. Now that she may return to QVC, I am happy. Judy has long been a favorite presenter of mind, due to her lowkey and soft spoken manner.

We need some of the former show hosts back..... the newest addition to QVC Sandra is really painful to watch! I have to mute my TV when she is on. Miss in the Kitchen with Bob! Lisa Robertson is really getting to be difficult to watch as well.

I disagree with the rude comments that she's too small in size and bust and doesn't look good next to other women in fitness segments. She's perfect for it because she is fit. Does everything have to be about big chests and fake breasts? Grow up.

ReplyDeleteI agree Lisa "it's all about me" Robinson is getting hard to watch. Saw Patti on PM Style last week and she was worse. Not once in the 2 hours I watched did she tell what the fabric was or whether it was machine washable. Ugh!

ShopNBC it seems already has stolen their integrity. Shop NBC is using them as bait to trick the public into the idea that ShopNBC is Quality and full of love! Nope! I understand people need jobs, But ShopNBC, I'm sure their last option, will not only cost them but it will be numerous consumers downfalls because they TRUST their opinions. It is hard to believe that people do not have more important persons or things in their life then to get so absorbed in the "celebrity" lives. After realizing how much I was spending on returning items, I quit buying. Jeanne Bice of Quacker Factory started out making wonderful affordable quality clothing, but now she sells garbage. She has joined the group of whores. Too bad! I use to like her. SHOPNBC are CROOKS. They double charged me and will not reimburse me $60.00. I have shopped with all three and now zero. I do not like the way the hosts tell you you will have the item for $$$ which is only one of the value pays, not the whole price. All three networks do that. The only "star" I believe that has continued to have quality nice clothing is Bob Mackie.
