Maxx Rep Disses QVC Fashion

If you haven't heard already, celebrity stylist, Rachel Zoe (known as a less-flattering nickname to Perez Hilton readers) will be launching her own fashion line on the Q soon.

I thought I was going to do a regular old post announcing the news, when I came across a blog written by Lilliana Vazquez, the vendor rep for Maxx New York handbags on QVC. Apparently she's a total fangirl of Rachel's ... unfortunately, in the process of promoting her fashion idol, she manages to completely dismiss every other fashion accessory designer currently on the Q and make fun of QVC's entire customer base. Classy.

Here's a snippet (emphasis mine):

So as many of you might (or might not) know, my “day job” is going on QVC to represent Maxx New York handbags…and although I really enjoy what I do, I hate the fact that besides our collection, there’s nothing at QVC that I would actually wear…UNTIL NOW…according to FabSugar, Rachel Zoe will be bringing all her gaudy, gold goodness in the form of an accessories line to the Q in October!!!

I hope to that the buyers let her do her “thang” and don’t make her tone it down for their audience. Based on past experiences, QVC has a lot of say in the design of each item so I hope they let Zoe’s genius take the reins on this one. I’m sure they’re goal is to attract a younger, more fashion-forward audience with her and they won’t be successful if they tailor the line to appeal to retiree’s in the mid-west.

Wow! Talk about biting the hand that feeds you. Does she even know about all the designers at QVC? I realize that you have to push through racks of bedazzled ducks to get to the trendy section, but it's there.

Just in her handbag category alone, there's B. Makowsky, Dooney & Bourke, Kathy Van Zeeland, Tignanello, Vera Bradley ... the list goes on and on (as one host is apt to say) ... are they all beneath her? If I like them does that make me an old, fashion-backward, mid-western retiree?

  1. Actually that is just rude and condescending. At least this midwest retiree knows how to use grammar correctly...as in "I'm sure they're goal is to .." They're means THEY ARE... she needs to use THEIR.

  2. Wow, what a dumb bitch! I always thought she was white trash herself....how odd of her to say such condescending things. And this is her JOB! Wow, she's a real ignoramus!

  3. THANK YOU, Anonymous #1! I thought the same thing: this chick needs to spend less time with her head up Rachel's @$$ and more time working on her grammar! And *retiree's* doesn't need an apostrophe; it's not possessive! Pffft, learn how to write, ho!

Who wants to bet that Miz Zoe's "accessories" will either cost a fortune or be so damn u-g-l-y that no one'll want to touch 'em?!

  4. P.S. -- oh, and by looking at her pic, in addition to spending more time working on her grammar, she should also spend more time at a Golden Corral buffet.....*B* needs to EAT!

  5. well at least she's being real and honest about the fashions on the Q... there isn't much to choose from and you know susan graver would NEVER wear half the crap she's peddling on there!

all these reps are so fake when they're on, it drives me insane and and i for one can't wait to see rachel's new line!

  6. Rachel is a great designer. I can't wait until her things show up. I think cherie christmas has some house cleaning to do. This reflects so badly on her and her company.

  7. Ok, I admit I don't wear all of the designers from QVC either, but shesh to dis them like this is just in bad taste and disrespectful.

She needs to go find herself another job. I agree with the previous comment. This just looks bad for the Maxx company.

  8. Welcome back Queen Bea! You were missed!

It just seems very bad form to knock competitors, especially when they are all under the QVC umbrella. As for that "genius" Rachel Zoe, what fun THAT will be to watch and criticize! --Q.C.

  9. MAXX NEW YORK IS AN EXTREMELY REPUTABLE COMPANY WHO HAS BEEN DESIGNING QUALITY FASHION HANDBAGS FOR OVER 20 YEARS. THEY WERE ONE OF THE PIONEER HANDBAG COMPANIES AT QVC AND HELPED PAVE THE WAY FOR THE NEWER COMPANIES. I HAVE SEARCHED AND SEARCHED FOR MS. VAZQUEZ'S COMMENTS AND HAVE FOUND NOTHING TO VALIDATE THEM. I FIND IT VERY HARD TO BELIEVE THAT SHE WOULD BE SO STUPID TO PUT DOWN QVC AND JEOPARDIZE HER CAREER. I'LL KEEP WEARING MAXX BAGS AND SHOPPING AT QVC WHERE THE PRICES ARE FABULOUS!

  10. I think it's pathetic that you have misconstrued lilliana's comments, which were frankly complimentary about QVC's latest decision to move towards a fresher audience when compared to you bunch of cows at the golden corral. Who eats at a golden corral?? What do they take food stamps there, better yet i'll bet they'll do layaway on your buffett there? Oh and I did use they'll that means "they will" to the William Strunk out there.
GO GET A REAL JOB AND LIFE!

  11. Hmmm, it couldn't have been said better if it were Lilliana herself posting...

  12. What a sad and vicious web site. I suspect Queen Bea is feeling a bit thrown off her throne. It might be time for some of the younger set to replace the old babes. Too bad

  13. Dear Quen Bea (btw, real bloggers don't HIDE behind pseudonyns):

It's clear that you and I live in different worlds, but in mine, fashion is not defined by elastic waistbands, 4-piece wardrobers or as a result of mass production in China.

You are entitled to your opinion as I am to mine, but your attack and misconstruction of my Rachel Zoe post was unfair and unreasearched.

What I stated was simply the truth. I don't wear Denim & Co. nor would I ever purchase something from Jeanne Bice, but that's just ME....as I'm sure you would never buy a pair of Louboutins or treat yourself to a one-of-a-kind masterpiece from Rodarte.

And guess what, QVC is looking for a younger more fashion forward audience. If they weren't, they wouldn't be going after Rachel with such vigor and tenacity.

The beauty of the internet is that we can all find a place and and an audience for our opinions and prefrences...and if you don't like or believe what I write, simply hit that little X button in the top of your window, but don't judge me or my readers for liking what we consider FASHION.

And to answer your question, YES, it might...
    Sincerely,
    Lilliana

  14. LOL gale--my thoughts exactly!! And don't you love the ad hominem attacks and obligatory "get a life," which is ironic, considering this person is posting here?

This little twit has clearly got her head up her a$$.
BTW, "Gaudy" is not a compliment.
She needs to learn herself some English. We all make simple mistakes, but that many in a single post tells me she doesn't know better (Re: "their" versus "they're," and possessive versus plural). Also note the numerous errors in her reply, which is even better than the original blog post. Louboutin? Rodarte? And this has to do with what? Somebody slap this twit back down to earth. Her reply claims she was "misconstrued," (yes, "anonymous" on May 27th & June 5th sounds like the little twit herself--like it touched a personal nerve) yet she digs herself a deeper hole, going on about elastic waistbands and China-made goods. In the past decade, more and more producers of high-end designer goods have shifted production from Europe to China. She's no doubt one of the fools who gleefully pays a 1000% markup on "designer" goods made in China, all the while believing she is so much better than the rest of us mere mortals to whom she peddles the Maxx bags. It seems she's the one who needs to get a life.

  15. It appears that the young Ms. Lilliana forgot what the definition of her job description was - being a Maxx REPRESENTATIVE. Ms. Lilliana, being a 'representative' is much like being a 'diplomat' in your fashion world. As can be evidenced by her glaring absence on QVC, she will have to learn that definition the hard way, and perhaps after a few more stumbles, methinks.

  16. People! Maxx isn't all that. I buy KJL and Motto to wear to grocery and around the house from QVC... and it's great... not trying to act above it all. I love the Q, but Maxx really isn't a brand worth caring about and more so who cares about the QVC face of Maxx??? It sounds like Lilliana thinks very highly of her style to be carrying such cheap bags. Zoe is just annoying. I don't think her run is going to be long, but we'll see. Us QVC girls want substance... not cheap Maxx bags. Stop buying the Maxx bags... and Kathy Van Zeeland... hate, hate, hate. If you want a status bag, QVC isn't it. They are great for fashion jewelry (KJL, L.G.Adams, filler Ripka)and day-to-day clothes... NOT BAGS.

  17. QVC has some nice sporty looking apparel for every day wear. I'm a younger QVC customer (early 20's) and a law student so my buck has to go a long way. I'll go to the Limited [and similar stores] for my dress attire and jeans, but sometimes you just gotta wear an elastic waistband and sneakers! Anyway, some of the "comfortable" clothes QVC offers are pretty stylish. My only complaint is that I wish the sizes didn't run so large.

btw: I agree w/Leslie. Maxx purses are not that great. I prefer D&B. Maxx can't hold a candle to D&B's workmanship, leather quality, and style.

  18. Lilliana looks like a 12 year old!!
    She needs to shut up.
I hate it when she's on, she'll hold a bag & say this is what it looks like. Maybe if you are 12 & skinny as a rail. I want to look at a purse with an adult holding it to get an idea of what it looks like with an adult holding it!!!!
