ShopNBC Cuts Host Jobs

Approximately 70 ShopNBC employees were laid off yesterday in an effort to "cut costs."

Even the hosts weren't spared at the chopping block this time. According to an anonymous sources, hosts Bill Fahey and Kerry McNally were both let go. And Jim Fisher's contract was not renewed, but he will now be a guest for the coin jewelry shows. Daniel Green is also gone, but he resigned a few weeks ago to do a local television kitchen show.

Per CNN, ShopNBC's "salaried work force was reduced by approximately 11%, which is effective immediately. This represents a total reduction in the salaried workforce of 27% from fiscal 2007. Impacted team members were offered competitive severance and outplacement services. Additionally, the Company will suspend its 401(k) match for fiscal 2009, and there will be a salary freeze with no merit pay increases in the coming fiscal year."

Jewelry Television also announced yesterday that they were starting yet another round of layoffs. They already have reduced their workforce from about 2000 people to 1300 in 2008. They aren't saying how many employees will get pink slips this time. However per the comments I'm reading here, it sounds like they were short staffed and encouraging call center employees to work overtime in December. Strange.

I wish everyone effected by these layoffs the best.

  1. Sorry to hear about Bill Fahey. He is a class act. Watching Pamela McCoy with the Prai lady last night, I wondered why Pam seemed almost loopy. Also wonder - how much longer can ShopNBC try to sell closeouts and cast off products from other shopping networks?

    ReplyDelete
  2. Now that just sucks, Bill Fahey has been there from the beginning. Whatever happened to last
    hired, first fired?

Pam McCoy, I can do without.

  3. Sorry to hear about the layoffs, I used to work there and the hosts that got the boot are ones that they should keep. Loved working with all of them. However, Pammy is an idiot - trust me. They should lose her but the McCoys are the ones who rake in the most money from the viewers.

  4. Bill Fahey is a former co-worker of mine at SNBC, but most importantly, he is a good friend. They let go of the wrong person, in my opinion.

  5. I love Bill and his tongue in cheek descriptions and am sorry to see him go. I can't help but think that maybe he was tired of all the drama and bored with his job, which he is too good for. He can do better.

  6. I can think of a few hosts that are lacking in the talent department; Bill Fahey wasn't one of them.

I see that K.McNally has scheduled shows through the end of the month. Either ShopNBC hasn't updated their host page (Fahey has no scheduled shows) or rumors of McNally's departure are incorrect. Of course, I noticed that J. Benoit was still listed as a host (?) and Daniel Green too.

  7. can someone explain why Pam McCoy rakes in the most money. She doesn't have the best product

  8. whatever happened to Carmela Richards of shopnbc?
    She is a classy lady.

  9. Carmela Richards was another one left behind when CVN became QVC.

  10. To Whom Ever Watches Shopnbc,

I am a Shopnbc viewer for many years. I am so sorry to hear that Bill is gone from Shopnbc. He is a very professional Host. He has so many fans here in NJ!

Missy Miner should have been gone since her trial on Shopnbc. In my opinion, she does not speak clearly and moves her mouth like Madam the puppet. Professional???? One time I called in to speak about a product and she literally dismissed me off the call after I waited a very long time to get through. And I was genuine and sincere. She was very disrespectful. Poor customer service. So sad. Who cares that she has a degree in STONES. It's not like she's an MD saving lives or something.

Melissa Miner will say anything to get a sale. These are economic times and I don't understand why her husband and her are still employed. Shopnbc should have at least LAID off one. Including Pamela McCoy. Her jackets are so stiff like her Rubber Lips. I must have returned two. Trying to give her a break. What a waste of HARD-earned money.

    Again, how very sad.

    Warm Regards,
    Lana Richards from NJ

PS It's cheaper to go shopping at the local mall instead of getting RIPPED at Shopnbc. At least their PRICES don't GO UP AND DOWN ALL THE TIME like Missy Miner's mouth. And then they wonder why the economy is the way it is.

  11. Just heard. It is really true? Bill is gone and Libby too. That was a terribly wrong choice for Shopnbc. I agree with all the above comments.

Pamela, Kerry and/or Melisa should get the boot.

    My comment.
Sick of seeing silver and fake jewelry at high prices.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I don't think Libby is gone. I saw her just the other night. I love her. She likes things and makes no apology for it. I also really liked Bill with his very dry humor. Maybe they just didn't get him in the midwest. Not too crazy about Melissa Minor, and now that you mention her mouth I totally agree. I am not so crazy about Pam McCoys personality and the way every fawns all over her, however I do own 4 of her jackets and love everyone of them and get compliments whenever I wear them and I do not see them coming and going on everyone else, which is unusal in NYC.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Love the host named Libby Floyd. I think I spelled the name right. Sorry if I didn't. She is great to watch. I saw her too on Shopnbc the other day but, I saw on the internet (like the above comments) that she really did get laid off because of the economy. Also, Kerry M. But, I think that maybe they are just filling in some extra time or something if someone else gets sick. That is what happened (I think) to Wendy Russo. I love her. She is a great host. Sorry to see that her hours were cut. WHO KNOWS ANYMORE.

What is happening to Shopnbc? I feel all the great ones are leaving. What is going to happen to this Network. I was watching this other Jewelry Channel and then the next day...they were gone in an instant. Imagine if you were to buy something and got stuck with the item (if you wanted to return it). Not good.

It's weird. Has anyone noticed when you call Shopnbc's customer service line (the last few months)...you get this machine service. What ever happened to REAL GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE? Even to pay...the customer listens to a robot recording. I waited super duper long then, had to go. With a baby and a small child, who has time to wait.

Best Host I like - Charla Rines
Worst Host (to me) - Melisa Miner (Read the above-writer hit the nail on the head with the mouth movements). How strange for being a host on TV where millions watch.

  14. I just found this website.

How great it is to finally view your opinion.

I am a guy who used to shop on Shopnbc. Love Sonia Bitton's jewelry. Been watching her for a long time. Never ever had a problem with her line. Used to buy lots for my wife!

Like Invicta watches but, they have NO street value at all. I will put you to the test. If you own one, bring one to a local watch buyer. They laugh at me when I show them my watch(s). What a rip-off that company-Invicta (my comment).

LOVE CEDRIC AND HIS WIFE NORMA. Good honest people who do not rip off the publc (my comment).

Jim Skelaton should get a life. He doesn't know (my comment) what the heck he's talkin about. He likes every watch. No variety there for the consumer. I like the bald guy host. Don't know his name. I bet they laid him off. All the fab ones are going going gone.

Weiss McCoy is a great host. Just should not work with his wife. It is bringing him down. She is not honest with the consumer (my comment). My wife can not understand her when she speaks. My wife is so funny cause she says it's due to the BOTOX (her comment).

Last...But, not least..Shopnbc is going to the dogs...my comment.

Have a great week. Hope I helped somehow. (My comment).

  15. I saw Libby last night (midnight) on Shopnbc! Maybe she's on PT now. Hope she doesn't get laid off. Love her too!!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Whatever happened to Kendy Klepper? Have to disagree with some of you about Melissa Miner. I learn a lot from her. Also, she answers emails quickly with right-on-target answers. But I have to second the comments about Pam McCoy who adds little if anything to Shopnbc. Her jackets all seem to be cut from one or two patterns with tacky bling attached.

    ReplyDelete
  17. People actually buy from Shop NBC? Their prices are about 3 or 4 times what the Q would sell them for. Ouch. I haven't bought one thing from them.

    ReplyDelete
  18. ShopNBC is fast changing into the WalMart of shopping channels.

Such a slip in the quality and value of their product offerings.
I just received a Dallas Prince ring, and the gold mount was all cut-outs
to save $$ yet the ring was over $900.!

My least favorite host is Sara Anderson, the talking fool- she is soooo annoying.

  19. Just found this blog looking for Bill Fahey. I had a suspicion that he was let go. But couldn't believe it. I thought maybe he decided to go behind the scenes and use his expertise. I know with his intelligence he will find something that will be fitting. However, when you have children that are in college and high school, and during these very difficult times, it is not what you want to be doing - look for a new position. I wish him all the best.
I would like to address the comments made about Pam McCoy. I am sure that she is a lovely lady. I just feel that she is cheating the viewer by telling us about Prai and other cosmetics being the one to use to diminish lines. It is so obvious that she has had injections. P l e e z e !! She has to be mid 40's and not a line anywhere. I will give her the fact that she does have awesome hands but I really think she has had some work done. The other thing that bothers me about her is the way she keeps nodding her head and smiling while her husband is explaining. She doesn't appear to be paying attention at all. Is that the feeling that you get as well?
I miss Carmella from the old days. Classy lady and fabulous voice. I think that Wendi Russo is very sweet. Melissa is ok. I did notice that Karen Connoly is on another network out of Reno and her ex is on a network out of TN. Jolene was also w/Karen but I haven't seen her for awhile. I noticed that Katina is also scarce. I could go on and on. But unfortunately these are the signs of the times. When it is good, it is great for all, but when things go sour then everyone is affected. I am fortunate to have a position in a medical specialists practice in the back office and at 62 still employed. We are not laying off. My family of sons and daughter in laws are also employed as is my husband. But we also don't make the big bucks. We are just keeping up. So I wish everyone the best and Gods blessings for health and better days ahead.

  20. I agree about the Wal-Mart approach at Shopnbc. They offer nothing I want to buy. And whoever came up with the bright idea to start the morning off with "Chatty-Cathy" Kimberly Wells, followed by "Screamin" lYnne Schacher needs to have their hearing checked! At least when Bill Fahey was around, the morning show was calm and interesting. Nothing personally against Kimberly Welles, but the pitch of her voice makes my ears hurt. Lynne is like a trained seal -- clapping her hands -- I just want to toss her a sardine!

Wake up Shopnbc and decide who you want to be - it is HSN or QVC? You already imported hosts and product lines from the defunct ShopatHome, and geez, I wonder why that didn't work?!!! (Here's a hint -- no one bought their stuff.)

    ReplyDelete
  21. Melissa Miner is a host on Shopnbc that doesn't speak clearly. I just do not understand her. How can she sell anything if you can not speak clearly on national television? I just do not understand. And there are people out there in American un-employed.

    I wonder.

    ReplyDelete
  22. The head-chopping at this network disgusts me. They have no regard for the hosts and vendors who helped make Valuevision what is was. I have also noticed that no longer is the gram weight or diamond quality routinely shown on screen. Experienced shoppers notice things like this,,,,,,,and will look elsewhere. I have shopped with QVC since before they WERE qvc, and now VV/ShopNBC is in second place. Too bad, guys,,,,,,,

    ReplyDelete
  23. That's a very good point regarding Shopnbc's no longer stating gram weight or stone grading. Additionally, too often the back of a pendant or the interior of a ring is not shown. I wouldn't even consider purchasing on item without a complete view, much less the gram weight or stone grading. I'm don't feel that I should have to go to the web site for product information that really should be part of the on air presentation.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Where are all those new and interesting vendors that seemed to flood the schedule about a year or more ago? It was fun to see what new and exciting products and creativity they managed to recruit. Things have declined considerably, and I notice very little new merchandise. It seems like they've been trying to sell the same stuff since fall. Sad. A sign of the times! I hope that they figure it out...I find ShopNbc tremendously entertaining. It's mindless and fun at the end of the day.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Every watch I have ever purchased from SNBC has broken within the 1st year. I will never buy another one from them. These weren't cheap watches either.I would hate to see them go out of business for the sake of the hosts but what is wrong with their watches? Are they fakes?

    ReplyDelete
  26. OMG Does anyone else just dread Lynne? I just turn it OFF when she comes on...I can't stand her!!! I am so sorry to hear about Bill and Kerry, etc. I found this site looking for Bill and it's so sad. SNBC is really going to the dogs.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Yes, I dread Lynne. too. She's Miss Phoney Baloney -- I have never purchased an item from her because she always presents an item as if she's really doing the shopper a real favor -- JMHO - she belongs on HSN!

    ReplyDelete
  28. As far as the hosts go, I liked Daniel Green; I am glad he saved himself on another network. I agree that Shop NBC is "going to the dogs." The product line is appalling and so are the prices. I don't care for the beds, electronics, watches and the clothing line. They have let go of many of the high-end vendors as far as the jewelry is concerned; I do see these vendors on competitor networks. Good for them! I can still see the jewelry I like to buy elsewhere.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I'm disappointed with ShopNBC. Bill Fahey was a class act. I read all the comments on Pamela, but don't find her that bad. Actually, she seems more relaxed around Chuck Clemancy. Jim Fischer is fun to watch with Charla. Daniel is cute and I'm happy for his new show. As the old saying goes...Everything changes, every hour, every minute, every second of the day. ShopNBC is feeling the economic crunch.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I just saw Meredith of the Treasures D'Italia show from Shop NBC on HSN!!! OMG-add that to Richard and Mariana Jacobs of Offerings, Basaad Sahardy of Dreams of India - who knows where it will end! I guess they are lucky to find other networks to take them and their product. I hardly watch Shop NBC anymore as their product quality had really diminished over the past year or two. Every time I ordered a piece of jewelry I had to send it back because a stone was missing or the stone was set in crooked or was loose and jiggling around. I'm really getting into QVC anymore. I like their lines of fashion. Who wants and needs all those overpriced short little leather jackets Pam designs? We need real clothes for people with real lives, not the garbage peddled on Shop NBC!

    ReplyDelete
  31. I too was wondering what has happened to Shop NBC? My Invicta watch is worn daily and has never needed a repair. My Pam McCoy leather jackets and faux furs have received plenty of compliments. I have some great jewelry too. But I have noticed the same as the previous writer that vendors have moved to other channels. Watching shopping TV has been a guilty pleasure and in the past my preference has been Shop NBC because the quality has been better than at QVC or HSN for most things I am interested in purchasing. I wish those affected by this change the best of luck. And I wish some of the really nasty writers in previous comments are never in my presence because I can't imagine being around them.

    ReplyDelete
  32. It just makes me sad to see such a great network decline like this. It has always been my favorite source for jewelry. Now I see some of my favorite vendors leaving for other shopping networks...... when will it end??? STOP THE MADNESS and give us our ShopNBC back!!!

    ReplyDelete
  33. If they EVER get rid if Charla - I will never watch ShopNBC again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  34. There was a time in my life when I may have needed an intervention-I was so committed to SHOPNBC....no longer- the products are soooo boring..I've very reluctantly moved on, to Sunday's with Sue on the Gem Shopping channel and that's about it.
We should have know, way back when Karen, and for a time, Kendi abandoned ship- I believe that was the very beginning of the end.
Shop has been taken over by MEN in suits- the party's over gals!

    ReplyDelete
  35. If Shop NBC WOULD get rid of uber manic Charla I WOULD begin watching the network again.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I'm sorry to see Bill Fahey go - I liked his sincerity. I agree with the previous commenter about the terribly mean-spirited comments about the hosts. I've never had a problem understanding Melissa Miner and I am a voice coach. Making fun of the way someone looks is just plain low.

As far as presenters changing shopping networks, it happens all the time. I see QVC presenters on HSN, HSN presenters on ShopNBC, etc. etc. Some network offers a better deal and they move on.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Much to my surprise, Daniel Green is back at ShopNBC. His time at QVC UK seems to have been short lived. I wonder what happened that would make him cross the Atlantic and return to the USA and Minnesota to return to ShopNBC. He will be a great asset as he already was before leaving in January. Welcome back Daniel.

    ReplyDelete
  38. If they ever get rid of Charla I will never shop at Shop NBC again. She adds some excitment to the show. She also gives honest information about products which I appreciate. Kimberly does not have a voice for television, it is really annoying. Lynne comes across as being a little curt and in a hurry.

    ReplyDelete
  39. It was good to see Daniel Green back -- but please - stop it with all the watches!

I love Charla, too. I wonder if we will ever see her with Sonia again?

    ReplyDelete
  40. Was that Paul Kelly at Shopnbc last night eating crabcakes with Daniel Green?

    ReplyDelete
  41. Yes, that was Paul Kelly! Wonder how long he has been with ShopNBC?

    ReplyDelete
  42. SHOPNBC SHOULD GO BACK TO THE ORIGINAL FORMULA OF VALUE VISION. QUALITY JEWELRY AT A GOOD DISCOUNT. WORKED THEN AND WOULD WORK AGAIN. I FEEL SAD THAT I'VE LOST MY PASSION FOR TV SHOPPING BUT TRUST THE QUALITY MORE NOW AT QVC. I'VE TAKEN TO SHOPPING FOR JEWELRY ON EBAY. SEEMS BETTER DEALS. SHOPNBC SEEMS TO HIRE HOST FOR LOOKS AND NOT KNOWLEDGE. TOO BAD.

    ReplyDelete
  43. What happened to the Find Lady, Lisa Roberts on SNBC? I haven't seen her in a long time and her products don't seem to be on the website? And how about Charlie Lapson?

    ReplyDelete
  44. I don't know what is going on with ShopNBC, it is turning into the dollar store of shopping channels. All my recent purchases have been returned because the quality is so poor.

It seems like they are trying to be a poor quality QVC from years gone buy without any new ideas.

Who ever is running the company is missing a few screws.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I use to be such a ShopNBC junkie. All the good vendors have pretty much disappeared and the jewelry seems to be K-Mart blue light specials. I bought a pair of earrings from Sonia Bitton (expensive) and the post broke off. Galerie de Bijoux repaired them, but I always thought they were supposed to be really high end. Then I bought a pair of chocolate diamond hoops (not from Sonia) and a few months down the road, one of the diamonds fell out. I called ShopNBC and the warranty had expired. I was admonished for not buying an extended warranty and had to pay for the replacement myself. I think extended warranties are a way of bilking more money out of the consumer. It always intrigues me that vendors can't back their product without the consumer paying for it. Anyway, I guess my point is that ShopNBC has gone down hill

    ReplyDelete
  46. Used to be such a Shop junkie, too. The quality of merchandise they offer now is an insult to my intelligence and such a far, far cry from the goods they sold years ago.. I don't know how this channel stays on the air. And like another poster, I watch it for comedic value.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Is Charlie Lapson ever coming back to SHOPNBC? So many of the vendors whose products I purchased don't seem to be there any longer. Anyone know what happened to Charlie Lapson?

    ReplyDelete
  48. After years of buying watches and jewelry items--too, too numerous to list--I received a letter from ShopNBC in January admonishing me for "excessive" returns. I did return four items in December because of poor quality or other issues but I was so annoyed by the letter that I wrote to the President/CEO of ShopNBC and the individual who heads customer service ( no title available). I detailed the almost 200 items I had ordered and kept , including household items, jewelry, watches (expensive) and handbags. I felt I was owed an apology. I never heard back. I now happily shop with HSN--which has upgraded tremendously--and the Q which is the gold standard of television shopping.
SHOPNBC has no regard for customers.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Rumor inside ShopNBC that last week Wes McCoy was fired and Pam McCoy is on her way out!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Something is going on at ShopNBC; haven't seen Pam and Wes for weeks and now they're selling food items to compete with the Big Q.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Say it ain't so! I love Pam and Wes and hope they haven't been given the boot. I also miss Bill Fahey. He was a gentleman, had a sense of humor, and a great voice. I miss the ValueVision days, and wish Carmella, Skip Conolley (sp?), Laura Duffek, and others would return. And where are the Ramseys? Is Lisa Roberts gone for good? The endless watches and now the food are just not up my alley. Not for hours on end, anyway. They need more fashion and costume jewelry lines. I hope the bigwigs can get it together, and soon, before customers jump ship. --Q.C.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Just to add, I think Wendi Russo does a wonderful job, also Shawn Wilsie (like no other host on any shopping network!), Kimberley Wells (yes, she has a, well, resonant voice, but she is endearingly enthusiastic), and Connie Kunkle, a good egg. SNBC has so much going for them, and they've always been far more fun to watch than the others. Why did they get rid of, or alienate, so many long-time vendors? Where is Charles Winston? And they need to bring back Shelley Cooper and her Sweet Romance line. I loved her line and her visits more than any vendor/product, ever! --Q.C.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I agree with the others who used to love ShopNBC - the decline in the past month or so is unbelievable. If they are trying to venture out to get new vendors, that would be fine - but to just 'drop' the tried and true ones (Charlie Lapson, The Find, Channoine, Borghese, etc) makes no sense to me AT ALL....AND - to lose (get rid of ?) the popular hosts also makes absolutely no sense either. Are they purposely trying to sink their already floundering ship ??? Too bad - but the change in just the past few months seems to be getting more and more negative

    ReplyDelete
  54. Yes, the quality has gone downhill. Probably not helped by the soaring cost of gold (that's when we're told that hollowed out designs such as "circles" are "in"). Now we have Sonia B selling a sterling silver line, etc. I used to be a junkie but that was an entirely different era.

But ultimately it is fine with me, because ShopNBC reneged on its public promise to stop selling fur, which is a bloody and cruel industry (the animals are skinned alive--did you know this?)

So I will be thrilled to see ShopNBC get what it deserves.

    karma is a bitch.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I used to love shop nbc but now I only watch if it is Isomers, Sonia B (who is hardly on anymore) or Charla Rines selling almost anything! The product lines seem to be rapidly going down hill. If Charla ever leaves, I will find a way to keep up with Isomers and Galerie de Bijoux and never watch again!

    ReplyDelete
  56. During the absence of Queen Bee, are there any other sites that report on HSN, QVC or SNBC? I seem to be yearing for more news right now. I've been searching with google but can't seem to find anything.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Is the Queen ever coming back????????????

    ReplyDelete
  58. I had this site bookmarked but thinking about deleting it. Hope the Queen comes back soon.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Do anyone know of any similar sites that they could offer up? Don't think anyone is home here.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Sonia B has two of her own websites where you can buy some old favorites as well as a vast array of new items! Just go to soniabdesigns or soniabcreations usual befores and afters. If you google Isomers Laboratories, their website will come up.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Thank you, I went to those sites but what I was thinking of is another site that gives the gossip of the Home Shopping Channels like Queen B does. thanks again

    ReplyDelete
  62. SHOP NBC HAS GONE TO HELL IN A HANDBASKET!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  63. I've read some of these comments and it is a constant question in women's magazines: Why do women dislike other women so much? Where does it come from and how do we stop it? Some of these cruel comments sounds like stuff you heard in high school. Please everyone just stop it and think about if someone talked about you in this way! Concentrate on products and services and not personal attacks.

    ReplyDelete
  64. We're born with it. We either like or dislike. Simple as that.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I would not assume that Fahey was simply "let go". There's always a reason.

    ReplyDelete
  66. ShopNBC is now run by two former QVC executives. SNBC had the highest average price per purchase of any television network (almost $200). I believe I read that QVC's was $50 average per purchase.
The new exec.'s aim is to lower that avg. price per purchase by selling lower priced merchandise. So, all the things we were shopping SNBC for are gone---superior, higher quality, higher priced merchandise. I don't shop this channel (or any shopping channel for that matter) for food! I can get that at the grocery store. I miss the gorgeous jewelry, particulary Nedda Bennam.....

    ReplyDelete
  67. Michael Vallitutti showed up with a Brilliante line. I have many great Signity pieces from his lines but didn't bite at this one. Tho the pieces looked ok I am doubtful. The quality of all their lines have gone so far downhill I don't want the disappointment(and the expense of a return).
I heard a rumor that Wes McCoy was fired? Anyone have any news on that? He is still listed as a host but I can't recall seeing him for a long time.

    ReplyDelete
  68. What is going on in Home Shopping? Thomas Picconi selling Christmas ornaments on two DIFFERENT shopping networks? Product on Shop NBC and QVC? Makes me go h-m-m-m-m-m-m-m

    ReplyDelete
  69. Is Shop NBC becoming a QVC reunion? Paul Kelly, Dave King - just to name a few?

    ReplyDelete
  70. The McCoys pictures are gone on shop nbc.good bye

    ReplyDelete
  71. And yet they have 15+ pages of her skimpy jackets and odd embellished crap to get rid of.....

While I don't regret them leaving I do regret the demise of the a quality shopping source.

    ReplyDelete
  72. everyone always looked strapped in with her jackets.no breathing room at all much less normal stretching.

  73. For the person looking for a place shopping channels and hosts are discussed, try the TWoP, (television without pity)site. For some reason I can't copy a link here, but if you google TWoP shopping channel forums July 2009 you'll see a link to the most recent discussions.

  75. What has hasppened to Ann Sutmar (Serta/Shopnbc)? Does anyone know?

  76. HSN is the best shopping channel out there! Say what you will, water off a duck's back. LOVE YOU HSN!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  77. Ann Sutmar is on right now. I am glad that she is back. They had somebody else (a man) Friday and Saturday. What a difference! She really knows her mattresses!!

    ReplyDelete
  78. I guess nothing good last forever. Stopped watching ShopNBC about a year ago. The quality of the merchandise has indeed gone to the dogs. More's the pity . . . the network execs in their infinite wisdom (duh!) have managed to alienate long time fans and customers. Ce la vie.

    ReplyDelete
  79. THE ONLY HOSTS WORTH KEEPING ARE KENDY AND LIBBY. I CAN'T STOMACH FAKE MELISSA AND PAM ANYMORE. ALSO, GET RID OF CHARLA.

    ReplyDelete
  80. For all you Sonia fans....google soniabcreations and you will see her website. At least I will be able to buy her fine jewelry when I desire.

I agree with everyone..SNBC has gone to the dogs and now sells mostly cheap junk.

I can't believe Paul waxes exstatically over those CHEAP gemstones he is hawking. Most of it looks like drugstore merchandise to me.

SNBC was special to me as a place to buy FINE jewelry at good prices and value pay.

  81. From someone who knows; SNBC will have a cash crisis this Fall. Vendors will stop shipping to them. And they will fail by the holidays.

    ReplyDelete
  82. I am just thankful I bought great jewelry from them when I could. :)

    ReplyDelete
  83. I have to agree with the majority of the postings. ShopNBC's quality has gone completely downhill. Charla is the only good thing about ShopNBC. Her talents are lost there. I miss Sonia Bitton, but am glad she has her own websites. ShopNBC has become the Chuck Clemency channel, what a sad way to go downhill.

    ReplyDelete
  84. It's a shame that they let Bill Fahey go...the guy is a real class act!

Pam McCoy is one of the most insincere hosts I have ever seen~she talks over others and her constant head bobbing and agreement to everything that everyone says is quite annoying. On the other hand, I LOVED Wes's voice! Very sorry to see him go, too!

ShopNBC has gone down the tubes big time~the quality and quantity of jewelry and jewelry styles is now akin to HSN!!!!

There's one thing that I can say about QVC~they really seem to show some loyalty to their hosts...can't say the same about ShopNBC.

    ReplyDelete
  85. OMG...Suzanne Sommers is coming to SNBC. Now it is really HSN...junk jewelry and all !!!LOL

    ReplyDelete
  86. What is so nice about cable TV and Satelite TV is you have several channels to look at. One channel will offer what the other one does not. Instead of negativism and insulting comments why not visit other channels or go on line and if you still can't fine what you are looking for there is always the mall. And to tell the truth we, as Americans, buy too many things we don't need anyway. We should be banking that money and not spending it on unimportant things like one more ring to add to the 100 we already have or one more set of sheets that will sit on the shelf because we have enough now to change the bed lines every day of the month without using the same set twice. I'm just as guilty of buying just because it's pretty!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  87. SS and Alan what a team. Leave him home to count the money!

    ReplyDelete
  88. To the person who wrote on 9/20/09, what are you a school marm, correcting everyone? The truth is that ShopNBC has declined and there are some people who actually have good taste and want high end merchandise. If you ask me your posting is extremely critical and insulting. We are all aware of other channels, we do not need a school teacher to tell us so. We are also entitled to our own opinions (even yours).

    ReplyDelete
  89. ShopNBC isn't what it used to be, and it's going downhill fast. Their numerous lines of high-end, quality jewelery are gone.

I no longer get coupons in the mail and inquired recently. The customer service rep got very testy with me. Apparently, they're eliminating coupons, unless you have a ShopNBC card.

I just looked at their online program guide for 10/09, and only the first week is listed. I'm praying now that they don't get rid of Isomers and Italian Gold with Stefano.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Several people who called in to speak with Manuela from Isomers yesterday made comments like, "with management changes, I hope you continue with the show", etc. It looked like Manuela choked up a bit with emotion over one of these calls. Made me wonder if ShopNBC is planning to drop her too. A couple of hosts even made comments that they didn't know when Manuela would be on again. ????? BIG mistake, if so.

    ReplyDelete
  91. I miss the days of Value Vision. I bought quality merchandise from hosts that seemed genuine; i.e. Skip and Karen Connelly, Charla, Bill Fahey, Carmela, and many others whose names escape me at the moment. I know that home shopping just like any business is in it to make money but in those old days, it seemed more innocent. I also miss John & Laura Ramsey, "Gems at Large". What a lovely and informed couple. I saw Skip on Jewelry TV and felt immediately at home.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Jim Skelton...look out! You, invicta, renato, and swiss watch international are next.

    ReplyDelete
  93. is that a qf top that man is wearing.omg!!!

    ReplyDelete
  94. First it was Wes, and now Pam - I guess with Suzanne Sommers aboard, SNBC will have more than enough schlock. Pam/Wes were once the signature hosts -amazing how time changes things.
Perhaps, they will do guest appearances on a cruise ship

    ReplyDelete
  95. I love to watch Heather Hall. She is guest hosting the Brillante shows and I love her style.

    ReplyDelete
  96. I still watch SNBC occassionally but in the old days I was a huge fan. They had so many vendors who I watched for entertainment in between purchases. They had so much energy which I don't see anymore on their shows. I liked Bazaad who I recently saw on QVC.

My opinion of SNBC changed though when I received a letter like one of the previous writers, admonishing me for excessive returns and threatening to 'limit my account'! I too have spent a ton of money with them and I returned items that didn't meet my expectations. I figured they must be in serious trouble to have the nerve to send such a letter. The return policy is the only reason I take the chance of paying my hard earned money for items that may look very different when you get it at home. I haven't ordered from them since though I do have an eye on a diamond pendant from my favorite vendor, Van Belinger.

What's up with the watch shows? They must be really strapped for products.

These are tough economic times and I hate to hear of anyone out of a job (anytime) but I am glad that when I do tune in I don't have to see or hear Pam McCoy. She seemed to be medicated and she just refused to try on the jewelry as though it was beneath her. It was also strange that she seemed to dislike some of the vendors and it really was apparent...may have been time for her to move on.

Charla is my favorite host on the show. I hope they figure it out.

    ReplyDelete
  97. I agree with many of the comments about the decline of ShopNBC. They have given up their status as a high end shopping network and have dived into cheap outlet. Wes and Pam had a certain class as did Bill Fahey. How could they have a Paul Vesey or Daniel Green instead. Mike Davis is even worse. And all the good vendors gone to be replaced by poor quality, cheap goods. Food I can get at the supermarket. Stop hawking junk and go back to what you were good at! And adding Suzanne Somers. Give me a break! Down the drain!

    ReplyDelete
  98. I sincerly wish someone would pull Melissa Miner aside and let her know that her inappropriate laughing and interrupting guests is beyond rude. I can not even watch Sonia Bitton when they have her on with Melissa Miner because Melissa cuts her off mid sentence, laughs and pulls on Sonia's arm while Sonia is describing her beautiful creations. If it is helpful at all to ShopNBC, we as customers are very interested in hearing what inspired the designers to create their lovely pieces, instead we get to hear Melissa interrupt and bring every item back to her GIA degree. WE KNOW ALREADY- let the guest talk. Also Kendi sounds like she is talking down to everyone by dragging every syllable out and almost phonetically tell you the price. It is insulting.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Their jewelry used to be fantastic. Their vendors used to be many and varied. Now they have become the shopping channel specializing in mattresses, electronics and watches. HOW INCREDIBLY BORRRIIINNGG.
Also, their ""customer service people" (when you can actually reach a live person) certainly could use some training in problem solving and professionalism. Whole-heartedly agree with the comments about the hosts.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Most of ShopNbc hosts (except Jim S) always seem uneducated about the products they are offering/presenting. ShopNbc leaders should insist that they study/do their homework @ the products they are scheduled to present. Don't even get me started about the customer service...they are the WORST, WORST I say that any comapny ever assembled. Till Invicta moves to another tv retailer I am forced to do business with them.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Does anyone have info on Paul Deasy's whereabouts? I have a feeling he is no longer with SNBC...all his jewelry is on clearnce. Just wondering LOL

    ReplyDelete
  102. I was checking HSN's web site and brace yourself, it looks like Dallas Prince left ShopNBC because HSN has Dalls Prince listed under their jewelry category. How in the world did ShopNBC let that tacky maniac S. Somers come to their channel and ShopNBC lets a talented designer like Dallas Prince leave the network??

    ReplyDelete
  103. Yes, Dallas is on HSN and I think Effy is there as well.

    ReplyDelete
  104. the world is turning upside down ,shop nbc, nothing but crap !!!

    ReplyDelete
  105. Daniel Green lied his butt of while working at ShopNBC.

When describing crappy I2/I3, I/J diamonds he said this:

"These diamonds are white, near colorless, and are boutique quality".

What a lying, sack of poop.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Sorry for typo.

The sentence should read, Daniel Green lied his butt off while working at ShopNBC.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Amy Said......

I thought I was the only one who thought
SHOPNBC has been going down hill. I so looked forward to John and Laura Ramsey Shows and always got complaints on their jewelry, now their gone. I don't see any shows for Sonia lisited so I guess she's leaving. What I do see is a lot of JUNK Jewelry!!!! Most of the jewelry I have bought I have sent back, poor junk jewelry!!! What is SHOPNBC thiking????? I found this website and was so pleased to hear other people thinking what I've been thinking....SHOPNBC is going down hill and fast!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  108. Shop NBC is ValueVision again! The Customer service is horrible. Their new host said that maybe if you wear a cheap faux skirt that they were attempting to sell for the 10th time, maybe you could get a promotion! CLASSY! I wonder how she ended up in front of the camera after 5years. I guess everyone at ShopNbc does more than lie!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  109. I stopped shopping SNBC after Ipurchased their Serta mattress. It was the worst thing I have ever bought. No customer satisfaction. Came to inspect, charged me $50.00 later got a credit after everyone complained and can't afford another mattress so soon. Gems at Large had the best jewelry, but the McCoys apparently had a huge fight with the Ramseys and it was all downhill after that. They came back but only briefly. Carmella is on occasionally again. Still a class act, but what is she doing there? Didn't she own Value Vision with her husband??? I will not spend a thin dime on any of their merchandise. They will surely go out of business soon. Poor management, customer service and buyers. A pity..

    ReplyDelete
  110. Where is Sonia Bitton - Galerie de Bijoux? All I ever see now is Invicta watches for hours on end...over and over and over!

All the GREAT brands are leaving and I was mortified to see Suzanne Sommers on now...she is so yesterday!

I used to spend some serious cash at this channel but now it's just so boring I hardly every watch.

Could someone PLEASE tell Libby to do something about those gross fingernails!!! ICK

    ReplyDelete
  111. I spent some serious cash there,as well. All the good vendors are gone. At least I have a few very nice jewelry pieces to cherish.I can't believe this cheap makeover of SNBC. They have lost me as a customer and I was a GOOD customer.

    ReplyDelete
  112. Just go to eBay for the best of the older pieces. Sometimes hard to find, but with patience you can find 14k gold for $18. a gram.
I won't do biz with these fools anymore. Used to be a great spot to snuggle down with for a bit. Have you checked out the pathetic auction site today? Phew.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Bill Fahey was chosen along with Kerry & Jim Fisher to eliminate because new management wanted to "trim the fat" and add the hosts they wanted. Pam & Wes were let go because of their high salaries and yes, management wants to lower price points and become more like the Q... Kim Parrish line will be coming soon and Dr. Rey is now officially fired from HSN...
Believe me, we all miss our high end jewelry though! Now it's a game just trying to keep our jobs at the Shop!!!

    ReplyDelete
  114. Paul Kelly is now a VP of Sales at Shop and oversees the hosts!!

    ReplyDelete
  115. Does anyone know if Pam McCoy is going to stay on as a vendor or is she just selling her inventory? Everything is on clearance.

Just as an aside, I think she wears novocaine lipstick LOL.

    ReplyDelete
  116. ShopNBC is pretending as if Pam is new, meanwhile the prices keep changing, and quality and customer service remains a joke. I do not think anyone wants to take on Pam. Her word is useless, she is aware and has admitted problems, but does not take care of it. They do not need her, they brought back the majority of con hosts from VALUEVISION!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  117. QVC is also becoming horrible. They are selling damaged goods, and making fun of all who purchased clad, plated, and lightweight gold. All of the networks are HORRIBLE!!!!!!!! How top notch can you be when you work for the networks and you KNOW what the are doing to customers! Sorry, Carm knows all about it. Do yourself a favor, DO NOT BE FOOLED BY SMILES!!

    ReplyDelete
  118. Isn't Pam through with her apparel on ShopNBC after the first of the year? I heard that on another BB.

    ReplyDelete
  119. I think Chuck Clemency's jewelry quality has gone down hill. It is all made in China. I have sent the last three purchases back due to poor quality. He is selling more and more of his products in covered silver at high pices for the low quality. In addition he is misleading the customer on the identification of many of the stones such as amethyst which can only be in the color purple. If it is green it is called presiolite and if any other color it is just a color of quartz. He also never tells you that the color diamonds except brown are all irradiated and you should never take the ring to a jeweler to be sized because heating it will take the color out of the diamond. These are things other shopping channels due tell their customers. He is at this channel so much I think SNBC is becoming a Chuck Clemency jewelry channel but the jewelry is getting more expensive and worse quality.

    ReplyDelete
  120. Is Isomers leaving SHOP NBC? They are now on Amazon.com. The last time Manuela was on she signed off saying Happy Holidays and Happy New Year. Does anyone else know anything?

    ReplyDelete
  121. I made the mistake of ordering Suzane Sommers bracelets. What a big mistake that was, they were cheaply made and the worst crystals I have ever seen, so I return the 2 I ordered. SHAOPNBC charge me for 2 seperate packages which was over $15.00 dollars. They say that is their policy. Well, that's fine with me, they have lost a customer that has been with them for over 5 years and ordered thousads of dollars, but it's all good!!! Since none of their good jewelry vendors are no longer with them I really don't care. I guess SHOPNBC likes their CHEAP JEWELRY LINE and willing to let good customers go, hey guess what, I can buy jewelry any where!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  122. Isomers: I heard Manuela say(and the host agreed) that she would not be back til after the New Year. But I would be surprised if she ever comes back. I think her comment was a gentle way of saying she was leaving. ShopNBC must be getting sensitive about all the vendors who have left. I see they now have another vendor of Tiffany style lamps besides Margie so she may be the next to go. Michael Vallitutti shows only his gemstone line now that ShopNBC decided to go with its own Brilliante(some of this collection is nice but I have sent back more than I've kept). The downgrading of Suzanne Somers has been painful to watch. I have some pieces I bought in 1992 that are made so well people assume they are natural diamonds. Now she doesn't even use CZ's.. and her clothes are crap. I thought Pam McCoy would be gone by November but I guess they still have too much of her inventory.(I even sort of miss her and Wes cooing to each other - don't you suspect they hate each other and don't even speak in private?)

    ReplyDelete
  123. ShopNBC is nothing compared to QVC or HSN. I bought a laptop through ShopNBC and had a nightmare experience with them.

The laptop arrived without the promised software or upgrade. I spend weeks - I mean weeks trying to get someone to make things right. I was dealing with call centers in India for the manufacturer for a while. They finally got me what I needed.

ShopNBC told me outright that it does not service what it sells. Nice, huh? Won't even act as a mediator to ensure you get what they advertised. The hosts say one thing, and the reality is another. I will never, ever shop there again nor do I recommend them.

HSN and QVC have always stood behind their products as far as I am concerned. No hassle refunds or returns. However, QVC is, I think, being surpassed by HSN in the customer service department. Just looking at their respective websites - HSN mkes it easy to know how many consumers are giving ratings at various levels. Plus, HSN sends an email confirming that a return has been checked in and credit granted. Just saying, not suprised ShopNBC is having a boatload of problems. It all has to do with how you treat your customers.

    ReplyDelete
  124. I agree with all the posts re: the demise of SNBC. I was a regular customer...spent thousands on fine jewelry and I still can't believe their rapid descent into crapdom. I won't shop there again.

Does anyone know anything about the return of the former Value Vision hosts? Are they permanent or just guests?

SNBC's format is now the same as the Q....selling all those dinky Christmas "gifts."

For anyone interested in viewing fine jewelry, I recommend the Gem Shopping Network. Be patient..they alternate loose stones and gem pieces.

Another opinion..everything Suzanne S. sells is junk! The clothing is God-awful. What did she do to her lips?

    ReplyDelete
  125. I also used to be a big shopNBC customer. This network has become the "Watch" network - and also the "cheap" designs of Chucky (But, It is fun to tune in only to see what color his hair will be for each show) - lol It is apparent that this shopping channel is going downhill by all the high-end vendors that have left.

What a shame about the McCoy's. Wes was very easy on the eyes!

    ReplyDelete
  126. I have seen all of the comments about the high end jewelry vendors who have left Shopnbc and the disappointment but, how many have actually shopped with these vendors in the last year? Maybe the reason why they left is because no one in this economy is buying $1000 rings. It is a shopping channel ..not an entertainment channel and I would imagine air time is very expense...if customers aren't shopping something has to change. Offerings is at HSN but the majority of their products are around $100 ..as for the other high end vendors...it doesn't seem like they are being scooped up by the other networks and making a killing. I'd bet money on the fact that if customers were shopping with vendors like Sonia and the rest..they would still be on ..money is money. It is a sign of the times and that is it.

    ReplyDelete
  127. I was addicted to this channel now it's only a shadow of itself. I began shopping there when it was ValueVision then in 2001 it became ShopNBC after that, it's being going down steadily. The price of gold is high, diamonds and color stones have gone up too, what we paid for 10 yrs ago now is 5X more, people are not as free with their money becaue of lack of security in their jobs, etc.

We're just not spending like we used to so out with the high end jewelry and in with the trinkets.

The honest truth is I'm afraid to wear my jewelry what used to adorn my neck now adorns the bank's vault. How sad very lamentable for all of us. I agree with all the other comments.

    ReplyDelete
  128. I think that ShopNBC is selling lower end items which is a sign of the times. The high end jewelry just isn't selling or they would still be offering it. Some of these vendors have gone to different shopping channels but I don't see them getting much air time or the other channels buying lots of their jewelry. HSN has now become the costume jewelry channel so ShopNBC is at least still stocking some 14K jewelry items. The Q has gone out of sight with their gold and silver prices. I don't even bother tuning them on anymore. As far as Isomers, I'm really tired of the same old and can well understand why they are getting less air time. I do see that they are going to be on next week for several hours which is good for their loyal customers. As far as Pamela's clothes, are embellished clothes that "in" today? She used to make classic leather jackets and tailored clothes but now every thing in embellished to the hilt. I haven't ordered anything for quite some time. Also I don't miss her and Wes as show hosts. There were so many times when I wished that she would have tried something on instead on holding it. Didn't she want to mess up her hair or what was the problem? I know that ShopNBC is taking a different approach these days but perhaps that is what will get them through the tough times. I've been with them since ValuVison and hopefully they will continue being around as I would miss them.

    ReplyDelete
  129. I'm sorry but I miss John and Laura Ramsey and always Sonia!!! I know times are hard but give me the choice to buy or not!! ShopNBC used to be a show I watched all the time now I hardly watch it at all. If I'm going to spend my money give me my monies worth not the cheap stuff they are selling now.

    ReplyDelete
  130. But, when Sonia is on are you buying?? If a show doesn't make any money..they can't keep airing it...ShopNBC bottom line is a business. If you aren't buying a product at the grocery store do they continue to stock the shelf space with it..just so you will someday have the option to buy it? NO. That space is then given to products that people will buy everyday. I have a feeling this "vendor shuffling" is because the sales just weren't there...and that air time has to make money. Obviously, the "cheap stuff" is making money..people are buying it and that is why we are seeing it. Unfortunately, the days of really high-end gem en-crusted beauties may be over. Things change sometime not the way we want it to.

    ReplyDelete
  131. The person above ask,"when Sonia is on are you buying?" The answer is, "Yes"! I would buy Sonia and John and Laura Ramsey. Now that it's gone cheap, I'm not buying, I can buy Cheap any where and not pay shipping and handling. We'll see if going to the,"cheap stuff" pays off for SHOPNBC. Buying cheap doesn't mean a good bargin, it just means,"Cheap" and that's not always good. When that stone falls out of the ring or your bracelet breaks remember you paid a cheap price, and got your monies worth.

    ReplyDelete
  132. I agree Shop NBC went from a place to purchase stunning, high end jewelry at amazing prices to a seller of low quality junk & endless hiteous watches.
Back in the day, I purchased a 32G 14kt white gold bracelet for 300.00,& some beautiful pieces from Beverly Hills Elegance, & many others which I will continue to enjoy, but face it folks, this is the end of an era, times have changed, time to move on. I am having best luck now on E-bay with amazing jewelry finds.

    ReplyDelete
  133. I believe the poster above is right ..it is the end of an era of high end jewelry ..if more people were buying you can bet those shows would still be on the air. I like the designer pieces better than the cheap stuff...but, if the shows aren't making money and other customers buy the costume stuff ...then you know what gets cut.

    ReplyDelete
  134. I miss Sonia, John and Laura Ramsey, 18K Elegance, 24K, the original
Brillante, and all the beautiful eye candy and yes, we did a lot of
purchasing. I love Isomers products, and Pam McCoy which did a
wonderful job of interpreting i.e. Escada at very affordable prices.
I miss Bill, Wes, Kerry, etc and think that a great deal of the local
vendor hosts do not represent a brand that is worth remembering.
There is no excitement happening. Yes, I hear all the ShopNBC
comments load and clear that if we buy the products will be there.
However, as they search for new customers and products why not
have these products on the web which costs ShopNBC little in investment compared to airtime. Why am I shopping for a 14K
6mm omega which could be dropped shipped from the vendor
on other sites? You can't sell it if you don't have it. Shame on ShopNBC for ignoring their established customer. I certainly do not fault them for trying new product and different price choices as it is a new day. But when your customer wants to spend the money for a
$1000.00 necklace why do we have to go to Amazon? Why not have the BEST branded product with the BEST hosts in very category. I challenge ShopNBC to be more creative in product, choices, and methods in capturing customer loyalty. As traditional
retailers have turned their backs on educated customers with their
in house brands which lack quality so they can compete with the
lower end stores the future for the customer searching for brands,
quality, assortment, and knowledge is TV. I can only hope that
ShopNBC steps up their product instead of going in the direction
    of the department store.

  138. I see Tim Temple is back on SNBC. I guess they plan to sell watches 20 hours a day.

How many watches can an indiviual buy ?

    ReplyDelete
  139. I heard that Sonja Bitton isn't going to be back at ShopNBC

    ReplyDelete
  140. Obviously the folks on here aren't on to the fact that the watches are what keeps the shop afloat nowadays. Watch collecting is becoming huge. I myself, who don't really consider myself a collector own 15 watches while I've bought my wife around 21 (not all from ShopNBC but my point is there are people who buy more than one watch). Does she get tired of them? Heck no and she has learned more about watches as well and knows what is crap and what is not. Watch collectors can spend thousands every month. Buyers of other products on the Shop will be hard pressed to compete with that. That is why the watch shows dominate the airwaves now. It's all about righting a previously sinking ship.

Even in these hard economic times, watch collectors are not easily deterred from buying. Read this article

The Day That Changed Watch Collecting
A decade ago, an anonymous buyer paid $11 million for a legendary Swiss watch. Horology has never been the same—and has held up even through the downturn

  141. I don't care if Sonja Bitton isn't back on ShopNBC as I never cared for her designs but I am tired of hour after hour of watches. Perhaps the previous poster is correct but hours of watches just isn't for me. Must be watches are working for them or they would constantly push them.

    ReplyDelete
  142. I like ShopNBC; I like the brand Laundry by Shelli Segal, waterford crystal and the ed hardy watches. Personally, I don't think anyone has a better collection of designer sunglasses. I don't like Suzanne Sommers, she is freakish.

    ReplyDelete
  143. QVC is a horrible screw up! Their gifts are booze or tools. It is a bad day when ShopNBC is selling better products. QVC needs to Sober up, they are losing loyal customers to their ignorance and ARROGANCE!! I'am sorry but they are selling DAMAGED GOODS and they know it!!

    ReplyDelete
  144. I use to love their watches, but they have reduced the quality on most brands (mineral glass crystals on Invicta instead of sapphire, no more MOP dials on Renato) and added more low end Chinese brands. The prices have dropped, but the stuff is junk. The hosts (especially Skelton) remind me too much of used car salesman with their BS. Any host who has already left this discount network has done themselves a favor. I can't imagine they will be around too much longer.

    ReplyDelete
  145. Did anyone notice that Sonia Bitton only has 4 items listed for sale on ShopNBC? I doubt she's going to be back. What happened to all of the wonderful jewelry that Soho ( Samuel B's wife's line ) produced?! I bought two fabulous rings a couple of years ago. They look so cheap now, and high priced. I used to by a lof of jewelry on this channel, even though I couldn't stand half of the hosts! I would turn down the sound on the TV if Melissa Minor or Pam McCoy was on. I'd rather shop online now.

  147. I have read on Facebook that Pam McCoy is going to continue selling her horrible, leftover stock through Jan. Ugh !!

    ReplyDelete
  148. I'm sick of Pam's embellished jackets and clothing. She used to make some nice classic styles but lately everything is over embellished with gaudy bling. I was in hopes that they replace her with some quality clothing line.

    ReplyDelete
  149. I too use to love SNBC- now I get on the website and don't spend too much time there. There stuff looks so cheap. All the vendors have went so down hill. It's like shopping at Walmart. I wouldn't be surprised if before too long there off the air! Yawn, Yawn, Snooze, Snooze! Sonia B shouldn't even associate with them anymore. She's too good for them!

    ReplyDelete
  150. Happy Holidays to all!!! SHOPNBC feels if they go too a cheaper line of jewelry people will stay with them and order. Will see, I don't watch any more and it's been months since my last order. In the day, I would order every week, now, I can't stand to watch nor do I want to buy watches!!!! I miss all the good vendors but the good news, I'm saving money!!!! I have canceled my SHOPNBC Card, the credit card company, Money Bank, had my account so messed up that I had to report them to Consumers Affairs of Virginia. Since reporting them I have learned that some of their customers are paying 30% interest and giving bad credit reports on many of their customers!!!!! Their customer service is located out of the country, so when you call, you don't speak to anyone who really understands English!!! I'm glad to be done with SHOPNBC and their Credit Card!!!!

  151. QVC is worse than NBC! CORPORATE'S INEZ, will NOT HELP people! QVC is selling crap gold and will not pay Price reductions! These Networks must be held accountable for their actions, or LACK there of!!!!!!!!!! Maybe if QVC were out of country it might help make sense of their policies!!!!!!

  152. Regarding SNBC, where is Mark Brown with Pearlfection. I loved his product and would really like to know why he left SNBC so abruptly.

  153. Sonia is way too good for Shopnbc. We can buy directly from Sonia at her websites, soniabdesigns and soniabcreations. The selection is HUGE and she will make things to order also! Sonia B. Designs is on facebook. You can become a fan and keep informed about sales - she had a great one in November for the holidays.

  154. I agree with many of the comments, especially about Wes and Pam. Pam is annoying, but Wes has the best voice I have ever heard (right up there with Frank Gifford and Howard Stern!) Re: Bill Fahey. Does anyone know if/why he got divorced? Did it have anything to do with his co-host in the morning -- can't remember her name? Kristy?? They seemed to be pretty cozy --

  155. Wow I'm so taken back by all of this Pam McCoy hate. I had NO idea she was leaving and this was her last collection. I love her stuff. This year alone I bought a fringed suede handbag that is gorgeous, a beautiful full length leather coat, a chain sweater, a python handbag, and some other things too. A dress. I don't know, maybe you all shop at Barney's or something, but for me, her clothes are gorgeous, and really well-designed. I'm so bummed. I had no idea. I was looking forward to her spring collection, but I was just looking at something of hers on the website and reading the reviews, and a customer mentioned she was leaving.

  156. I started with Value Vision last century! I bought exquisite jewelry from Bezhsd, Trader Jack, Tagliamonte, Dallas Prince, SoniaB ( this century) as well as the Jacobs not to mention Cedric's and Tissavel. This is just a few of the vendors. I'm sick, sick, sick of Chuck and his Kellie Ann junk, the endless hours of Invicta etc. And all the low end mdse they are now selling. Hate to say this. They should make a bobble head doll of Pam saying uhhum or mmmm. I go to 47th street to buy gold jewelry on the scale.

    ReplyDelete
  157. I'm an old value vision customer too. I remember Bezhsd - dreams of india I think - and that stuff was beautiful but out of my price range. I stopped wearing yellow gold years ago and couldn't care less how expensive it gets, though if gold ever comes down, I would start buying white gold instead of sterling silver.

As for Pam nodding her head, it's not an issue for me. I know that some of these people, Pam, Colleen Lopez, and then that skinny plastic looking brunette on QVC whose name I don't know, do attract actual fans and it becomes a cult of personality. Not for me. I have tried a couple of Colleen Lopez's things and had to return them, it's cheap looking stuff. Pamela McCoy's stuff is, for me and my price range, beautiful, well made, and classy. I am not interested in having a glass of wine with her.

    ReplyDelete
  158. By the way, the shopnbc facebook page is now telling people who have been complaining, that in fact, Pam McCoy will not be gone at the end of January 2010 like they had originally announced. They said that this has changed and McCoy will be continiuing on with her line at shopnbc. I don't know for how long or what exactly happened there.

  159. ms. mccoy is the only real reason i watch shop nbc. i dont like cheap stuff. hers caught my eye while flipping through channels. if she is on, i am watching, especially faux furs. i dont understand all the hate for her and her products, read the raving reviews on her products, and get a life.

  162. Pams products get bad revues as well. Mostly everything she has now looks tacky and overly fussy.

As for watches, are the $29.99 ones collectible items?

Cheap, cheap and more cheap. Surely, the public deserves better.

    ReplyDelete
  163. Pam's face is frozen.

    ReplyDelete
  164. My cable network took away Shop NBC (unless I upgrade) and I miss it...looking at things online isn't the same. I am saving lots of money, though, but it's not very much fun!
Wes and Pam, in my opinion, spoke calmly and not screechy (Schacher, Kimberly,-?!!) and I wish them well. Enjoyed watching them in the evenings.

    ReplyDelete
  165. Sometimes she seems a little zonked, but actually I kind of like Pam. I have a coat she did years ago, a 3-tiered Tissavel, that's just beautiful. Miss Wes and sorry to hear about the others leaving. I'm glad Charla's still around and that I found Karen Connolly, she's a hoot!

    ReplyDelete
  166. Hate to be a bearer of bad news, but Charla is no longer a host at Shop!

    ReplyDelete
  167. I saw Charla on Shop over New Year's weekend.

    ReplyDelete
  168. Unfortunately, Charla and Mike Richardson(?) may be gone from ShopNBC. I read about it on another BB today. I really hate to write that and hope, ShopNBC will have a heart and keep them both. I believe it has to do with salary or age, but don't quote me on that! I presume, Charla and Mike are over 50, and it will be hard to find another job at that age. Maybe, ShopNBC will have something for them working behind the scenes. I miss Wes, Pamela & Sonia!

    ReplyDelete
  169. Sorry!!! Mike Davidson - not Richardson!

    ReplyDelete
  170. Charla and Mike are gone !! Their pictures have been removed from the host's web site.

    ReplyDelete
  171. Ah, poetic justice and karma at work. Big Mike was the one selling those overpriced defective computers and big screen tvs. Also selling worthless warranties for the same. I am glad he is gone! Check out the hundreds of complaints on ripoffreport.com.

    ReplyDelete
  172. Charla is the only host on SHOPNBC worth the price of admission, as they say. ;)

Seriously, I love her and hope this isn't true.

    ReplyDelete
  173. It is true, sadly, that Charla and Mike are gone. The Shop officially posted it on Facebook.

    ReplyDelete
  174. Keep an eye out for her on the other networks! her daughter posted a nice thing on SNBC's facebook page. Also, Dallas Prince, Sajen(Offerings), Taglaiamonter, Passport to Fine Jewelry and Charles Winston are at HSN now...

    ReplyDelete
  175. QVC is firing tons of people, and banning people left and right! They just sold the bad colors of gold again as a one time only. QVC is not stopping the bad quality items from selling! How much lower can QVC sink! A Customer Service rep in TX said if anyone tries to help, or get involved in trying to help someone who is BANNED< they will be BANNED also. QVC is avoiding TRUTH!!! BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  176. I sent SNBC an email complaining about Charla's departure and got a generic reply. SNBC wishes Charla the best in all her endeavors. I suppose that means, Charla doesn't have the opportunity to regain her previous job as a SNBC buyer. That stinks. I miss Jim Fisher, Lambert Chang of 24K, Sonia, Kerry the host, Lisa Roberts of The Find, Charlie Lapson and his handbags and so many of the classy people and products. Now, Suzanne Somers and Dr.Rey are selling over there????? WOW!!! Freaking unbelieveable!!!! Brilliante is replacing Van Belinger and the Ramsey's fine jewelry???? This all seems like a terrible train wreck.

    ReplyDelete
  177. I am sadden to hear about Charla being let go from ShopNBC. They are absolute fools. Charla convinced me to buy a$4,800 ring of Sonia's and I am so glad she did. I will tune off ShopNBC from now on. It is now the Chuck Clemency and watch channel.

    ReplyDelete
  178. qvc needs to drug test their employees!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  179. What's wrong with most of you people? I'll bet the people complaining about snbc's lack of "fine" jewelry have never purchased anything over $300! they wouldn't know the difference, especially an individual like the one saying how much better qvc's jewelry is and also that qvc is sooooooo much cheaper. Qvc has always had cheap, "small" jewelry, and it's always been way overpriced! Always! Shopnbc's prices have been unbelievably reasonable for expensive, classy jewelry that most of us would never have been able to afford if it hadn't been for them!
You may not like Pam McCoy, but she makes a good, classy piece of clothing for the price. and I'd bet most of you bad mouthing all of her products have not even bought any of them... or at best you've tried one or two. (and everyone can have an "off" product now and then. Just return it!! QVC is so overpriced it isn't even competitive with store prices are many of their item.... yet some of you continue buying because you think everyone there is "sooo nice."
Some of you just like to mad-mouth; and will do it about anyone, anything, and on any chat line... regardless of the fact that you don't know what you're talking about!

    ReplyDelete
  180. Chances are, if someone does not like Pamela, they will not buy her stuff. ShopNBC has ripped off thousands of people with their junk computers.... I HOPE they go down in flames!

    ReplyDelete
  181. Wow, I don't understand why they would let Charla go!! Just another reason not to watch SHOPNBC. Look like ShopNBC wants to lower their standards so low they want to go out of business. One person said that those who complained about not having Sonia or John and Laura Ramsey didn't buy over $300.00 dollars, well you are so wrong. I bought thousands of dollars from Sonia and John and Laura Ramsey. Tonight So Ho was on, she was to be on for 3 hours but everything sold out so the show was on only for and hour, which says, if you have good jewelry people will buy. I haven't bought anything in the past 3 months and I won't be buying anything. I will miss Charla and hope she lands on her feet soon as well as the other good host they have let go. Please, the way to get ShopNBC to change is to quit buying their junk!!!

    ReplyDelete
  182. Everyone is so right on the money about shopnbc. I loved all the fine jewelry lines and spent thousands. Chuck is trying to save the company. He has started bringing 14k at reasonable prices. I will miss Charla; she was entertaining. I, personally do not care about the idiosyncrosies of the hosts. As a custumer I want fine jewelry on valuepay and at reasonable prices. When they brought in Paul Desi and Susan Sommers, please, I knew for sure they are going downhill. I, too, will no longer shop at shopnbc.

    ReplyDelete
  183. I;m just sick to hear that Charls is gone, She sure made me laugh and talked down to earth. I sure hope she gets another hosting job with someone else, I sure will watch her. Shame on Shop NBC. They are only killing themselves. Get rid of some of the big shots.

    ReplyDelete
  184. Where is Wes McCoy now? Loved him on SHOP NBC. Is it true that the McCoys divorced? I thought he was truly excellent. I was surprised that they let him go and he is nowhere to be found on TV- anyone know where he is?

    ReplyDelete
  185. It has become obvious to me that ShopNBC will throw anyone under the bus to try to salvage their sinking network. Charla had been there for years....so much for loyalty I guess. If you are not in the market for a watch or a Serta mattress, you are SOL. It seems that's all they sell anymore. I very rarely watch anymore and now after hearing they fired Charla, I won't watch period.

    ReplyDelete
  186. Yes there is another shopping channel called Jems TV, I tryed it,they have some nice products, but they are very pricey and no value pay,Don't plan to return to many products or they will cut you out, from buying anything. They are just to high pressured.

    ReplyDelete
  187. If an employee of ShopNBC is reading this blog, perhaps you'd be
kind enough to take a minute to post the "411" on Shop. I can't believe
that their holiday sales could have netted enough to keep them on the air
for much longer. Nor can I understand the choice to walkaway from the best
vendors, leaving us with dreck- and the final insult for me is to see Charla
dismissed, while some of the surviving hosts should be selling used cars
rather than invading my living room. I am done

    ReplyDelete
  188. I was watching Pamela McCoy on ShopNBC selling
the last of her stuff when some lady called in and asked if Wes was "ok". Kendy and Pam looked all shocked that the lady asked about him as if to say "how did she know" ?? Pam said "oh he's greaaaat blah blah blah" but never said what happened to him and quickly got the lady off the subject. So what happened to Wes...anyone know?

Have you seen the pics of PMCoy on her facebook page? She's getting a ton of injections. She's hardly looking like herself anymore and noticed 2day on tv she has a hard time smiling.Whatever...she is a crashing bore and I'm glad she off SNBC and her husband is a complete dork!

I'll bet they're both a couple of winos living in gawd awful Minnesota.

    ReplyDelete
  189. I wouldn't write something so demeaning about other people being winos or having tons of injections. We all have our flaws and shortcomings. Charla is on facebook and would love to hear from her loyal fans and customers. God bless!

    ReplyDelete
  190. I hope everyone has a very happy and healthy new year! I agree with all the former posts regarding the quality of ShopNBC merchandise. I wish I would have kept many of the rings and bracelets I purchased years ago from ShopNBC or any of the other shopping channels for that matter. I wish upper management would look at the cheap merchandise they are selling instead of firing all the good hosts and getting rid of all their quality vendors. I am sick of buying stuff MADE IN CHINA!!!

    ReplyDelete
  191. I agree with everyone and wonder if the Shop can stay in business with what they are selling. Ultra junk jewelry, cheap shoes and watches and even candles. A far cry fom the good old days.

For those who love fine jewelry, I highly recommend the GemShoppingNetwork.Neda Benham, from SoHo Boutique, has some pieces there. Maybe other vendors will go there, too. Be patient, they alternate loose stones with beautiful jewelry, both new and estate.

    ReplyDelete
  192. Gem Shopping net. drives me nuts with their hype and lack of professionalism. I honestly don't have the patience to watch them much less buy anything.

As far as Charla (and the others) being dismissed, I dislike seeing anyone losing their job but truthfully I never liked watching her and generally skipped the shows that she presented. There were some days that she was off the wall. Mike was like a side show barker and Wes or Pam's oohs or ahhs never impressed me either. I can understand why the management felt compelled to hire other hosts.

Yes, ShopNBC is struggling as are the other shopping channels. Why shouldn't they try there best to hang on? If you read their stock report news, they have increased their customer base significantly in the last few months. Undoubtedly it's due to the affordabilty of many of their products that most of you are complaining about. I have bought more items there recently than I have in years. Right now I wouldn't buy gold jewelry from any source as it's just plain too expensive anywhere. It just might be there are a lot of us out there that feel the same so adjustments have to be made in merchandise.

I still feel that ShopNBC has better quality goods than the other two major shopping channels.

    ReplyDelete
  193. Wow the meaness here is is sufficating. I don't think that either of the McCoys are "winos" but what I do think is that some people are very jealous and bitter. Perhaps their own relationships are long dead and gone.

    They're not divorced.

And if you don't like Pam's stuff don't buy it.

People should learn that the more spiteful they talk, the more they reveal about their own selves, until it becomes obvious even to the slowest mind that they are speaking about themselves.

    ReplyDelete
  194. I love all of the sniping about shopnbc no longer carrying lines like Dreams of India and how they only carry cheap shit now. Well, this may have escaped your collective notice? But this isn't the 1990's any more.

Most people can no longer afford to buy at those prices. And you know what? I don't think YOU can either. Because if you could? You wouldn't be worrying about what shopnbc was carrying. You'd be in a fine jewelry store. So give it a rest, you faux elitists.

    ReplyDelete
  195. Sorry, if you think I'm a faux elitists, but I hate to tell you this but you don't know me or what I buy!!!! How dare you assume what people buy or don't buy. I do buy fine jewelry and when SHOPNBC carried fine jewelry I bought a lot. Sine they no longer carry fine jewelry I go too Jewelry Shows when there are over 200 vendors, willing to sell fine jewelry. Plus, I work 3 jobs so I can buy fine jewelry plus save money...you need to get a life and not worry about others!!!

    ReplyDelete
  196. Just stay away from QVC and Crap COLORS OF GOLD!! Last night Antonella said The Quality HARDLEY EVER, EVER, HAS A PROBLEM!! Guess what! ONCE IS TOO MUCH!!! Its pretty Bad when the Hosts admit FAULTY PRODUCT HAS SLIPPED BY! I would commend her honesty but she tried to sell FADING COLORS OF GOLD!! Fool me once QVC, NEVER AGAIN! Good things your host Sandra is willing to leave during the show to buy your $20.00 gold. QVC YOU WON'T RUN A BUSINESS WITH EMPLOYEES BUYING YOUR PRODUCT. THANK SANDRA FOR BUYING THE COIN, SHE SAVED SOMEONE ELSE FROM BEING ROBBED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  197. I was a long time shopper with SNBC but have not purchased anything in almost a year. I bought everything from hign end jewerly from Sonia to to sheets. I used to purchase a lot from Pam's line until I found the same products on another shopping network in Canada. When I wrote to SNBC's legal department, they happily gave me a $100 credit and said the situation would be looked into..after all she claimed they were her desings. No longer did I buy her line. I continued to purchase high end jewelry until they all of a sudden got rid of the value pay...what idiots. Then it went from ... gee what do I want to ... is there anyting on this site that I want! I knew something was happening at shopnbc. I have bought many Dallas Prince designs, Sonia, Morris & David, Effy and lots and lots of gold chains etc. But when you cannot believe in your customers and give them the chance to continue to purchase well made jewelry, even if it cost more, then I have no faith you your company. Now...with all the good host gone, good jewelry gone and basically cheap break after a few wearings has been replaced...I am no longer a loyal customer. What a shame to see this happen so quickly to what was a HIGH end shopping network!

    ReplyDelete
  198. I, too, shopped with ValueVision. My biggest regret is not having any of the Montana Sapphire jewelry. I miss the Ramseys, Sonia Bitton, etc., but things do change. If you are not happy with ShopNBC, don't shop there. My mother always told me "If you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything."
Constructive criticism is okay, but destructive criticism is unacceptable.

    ReplyDelete
  199. I think we all are aware of the financial circumstances at the current time. Yes, fewer people have the means to purchase expensive jewelry so the shopping channels had to adapt to market conditions. Unfortunately, they are now presenting flimsy junk.

What was wonderful, for example, was Sonia's shows. One could view all the product,go on-line for more info and then purchase something beautiful...usually on value pay. Same with all the high-end vendors. This is the loss that we are bemoaning. I, for one, spent $10,000. a year.

In a fine jewelry store, you cannot leisurely browse all the merchandise, think, think and decide later. You would drive the high-pressure salesperson crazy.

I think we jewelry lovers have a right to complain. Something beautiful has been taken away.
