Shalini Vadhera, celebrity makeup artist and CEO of Global Goddess Beauty, which is sold on HSN, announced her resignation from the company via Twitter today. Here are the tweets in chronological order:
It comes w great sadness that on April 8th I resigned as CEO of Global Goddess Beauty. I will no longer have anything to do with GGB. ... Although there may be an attempt 2 use my name & picture 2 promote the brand, I won't be able 2 guarantee the integrity of the formulations ... nor will I be able to guarantee the authenticity of the beauty secrets ... It was my lifelong dream 2 create a brand I truly believed in 2 empower women worldwide. With ur help I was on my way to realizing my dream ... It was shocking & immensely disappointing 2 learn an investor brought on 2 support my business has ultimately decided to take it over ... I want to sincerely thank each and every one of you for your support. ... And for giving me the opportunity to create products I truly believed in to help women look and feel beautiful around the world ... I look forward to our paths crossing in the future... Signing off of Twitter as Global Goddess
Although the website for Global Goddess Beauty still exists, all the products have been pulled and it is now "under construction." Her beauty blog is still up at HSN, but there aren't many products left to speak of and most of those are on clearance.
Shalini is also the author of the book Passport to Beauty. And she recently took a twitter swipe at Jessica Simpson:
Jessica Simpsons show complete knock off of my book and brand. 2 bad she doesn't do it justice. Lack of authenticity is speaks volumesHere is a screenshot of the tweets. They're a little hard to read since you have to start at the bottom and read up!
