Home Shopping-isms: The Musical!

Former host, Steve Bryant (remember him?!?!) performs the musical version of Home Shopping-isms and Queen Bea love, love, loves it! Check out my list here.

Sensa Sprinkles First Impressions

In the starter kit box, you get two containers of sprinkles, each with a salty side and a sweet side (like combo salt and pepper shakers), and a DVD.

The DVD is mostly a commercial for the sprinkles and an explanation of how they work. Basically, from what I understand, most of what we think of as taste is really smell--its just smell through the back of the mouth instead of through the nose.

This all started when they noticed that people who lost their ability to smell tended to gain weight, probably because they were eating more just trying to taste something. The idea with the sprinkles is that you’ll taste (smell) more, so you’ll have the urge to eat less and eventually lose weight.

I also learned that not all sprinkles are the same. There are different sprinkles for each of the six months. Changing up the smells is part of it I guess. Not all sprinkles are created equal, chickadees!

Also, in their studies, women tended to lose more weight a few months into it while the men just dropped a bunch right away. Typical. This is why The Biggest Loser will never be fair!

I thought the salty sprinkles smelled a little horseradishy, my son thought they smelled like pizza, and my husband thought they smelled gross (but he hates horseradish). The sweet sprinkles smelled like strawberries to me, good to my son, and like cotton candy to my husband. He really liked the sweet ones! I’m going to have my pregnant friend use her super smelling ability to give me her opinion too. You know how your sense of smell goes nuts when you’re preggers!

You aren’t supposed to be able to taste the sprinkles once they are on your food. And I haven’t tasted anything with the salty ones. I have tasted something with the sweet ones, although not unpleasant.

Maybe I’m just using too many sprinkles. I don’t know. I’m still not exactly sure how much to sprinkle. You’re supposed to try to coat your food, but that’s easier said than done sometimes. Think about sprinkling a granola bar, or a handful of peanuts, or chips and salsa--not always sure if I’m coating the food or coating my plate.

And it’s also difficult to gauge how much is coming out of the container since they don’t have any weight to them. The little white sprinkles show up better on some foods than others. I’m hoping I’ll start to get a feel for it the more I do it.

As to how it works … well, so far it does. The best way I have to explain it is that it’s like eating something you really like that has too much salt on it. No matter how much you like it, or how hungry you are, you just can’t eat tons of it. Eventually it’s just too much.

Another thing I noticed is that even when I’m hungry, nothing sounds good. I was having trouble finding something I wanted to eat this past weekend because everything just sounded *meh*. Maybe that’s just me being hormonal or something though. I’m sure I’ll figure it out after I’ve been doing this a while.

And remembering to use the sprinkles isn’t always easy either. I’m hoping that it just becomes second nature soon.

So there you go, chickadees! That’s my impression after two days of using Sensa. I’m sure my opinions will evolve the more I get into it.

Today's Blue Plate Special ... The Blinged-Out Princess and the Pea

HSN has a limited-edition FusionBeauty BlingFusion Birthday Kit as their TS. Not only can you trout your pout, but you can plump your lashes and bronze your face ... you know, the natural look! This line has a bit of a cult following and the reviews are great overall. And you also get a subscription to Self magazine, which you will have trouble reading through your super fat lashes.

Queen Bea is blinded by the bling on that lip plumper wand. That is sooo fierce, y'all!

The ShopNBC OTV is a 14K White or Yellow Gold Diamond Cross or Star of David Pendant w/ Chain from the Van Belinger Collection. Cute, but waaaaay to small. Looks like a good pendant for a little girl. Or I guess if you're the dainty type, which Queen Bea ain't!

They also have $1.99 shipping on clearance jewelry, watches, and apparel, which is practically free!

QVC's TSV is an Amadeus Amelia 600TC Egyptian Cotton Sheet Set 4 Pillowcases. I loooooove high thread-count sheets--Queen Bea has high standards, you know! And I definitely appreciate the extra pillowcases and the deep pocket on the fitted sheet ... Queen Bea has to pile up the feather beds to cradle her royal arse in comfort. I do wish that the king set would come with two standard and two king pillowcases instead of all four being king. Oh well, you can't have everything!

JTV Jewelry Design Contest ... Vote!

Jewelry Television is having their 6th Annual Jewelry Design Contest and while the powers that be at JTV choose the top three winners, you can vote for who should win the Viewer's Voice Award from 50 finalists.

Some of the sketches look completely professional, while others appear ... less so. I have a hard time picturing the finished product if the sketch isn't particularly good. Sorry.

You can vote once a day from June 30 - July 6. Click here to take a look and vote!

The winner gets a $2500 shopping spree. Now wouldn't that be fun!

Technical Difficulties

I am having all kinds of DNS issues right now. New domain name isn't working and I'm back to the old homeshoppingqueen.blogspot.com for now because it's that or the old 404 error.

Tales from Home Shopping ... Is Your Bandana Tingling?

Top Ten Favorite Home Shopping-isms

... in no particular order!

  1. I just love, love, love this!

  2. This is soooo on trend for Fall.

  3. This is very high-end … Madison Avenue … ladies who lunch … money … designer-inspired

  4. This piece has a lot of gold presence

  5. This will be your go-to piece … Just slip it on with a crisp, white shirt and you’re out the door!

  6. At this price, you should get another one to keep in the gift drawer … gift closet … for the babysitter … for the mailman

  7. Twenty dollar bill alert!

  8. That breaks down to less than 50 cents a day!

  9. It’s practically free!

  10. Hurry! Less than 2 per state!

I'm sure I missed some good ones! Email me if you think of something I forgot! :-)

Today's Blue Plate Special ... Cheese in Bulk

HSN's TS is a Victoria Wieck 5.33ct Pink Amethyst and Gemstone 14K "Daisy" Ring. The Portugese-cut, round amethyst has 145-facet ... Queen Bea loves lots of facets cause she loves to sparkle! However, the gold looks ... skeletal? I get the whole daisy stem concept (and I love the bezel-set gems in the center of the flowers), but it's just not enough gold for me.
QVC's TSV is the FoodSaver Fully Automatic Stainless Steel Vacuum Sealer. I love buying fifteen pounds of cheese at a time at Sam's Club just as much as the next person, but for some reason I haven't gotten a vacuum sealer yet. Would I really use it or would it collect dust? I don't know.
ShopNBC's OTv is a Swiss Legend Men's 1.0ct Diamond Throttle Chronograph Stainless Steel Watch for $500. It's nice, but not $500 nice. I love the Cartier-style screw heads on the bezel and the mother of pearl face. And the "glass" is sapphire crystal, which I love because it doesn't scratch. But I could do without those little diamond dots and the ginormous price tag! And what's with the word "Throttle" in the name? Must be a man thang.

Sensa ... Stay Tuned!

I got my Sensa sprinkles ... initial review coming soon, chickadees!

Stay tuned. :-)

Jewelry Television All Grown Up

Our little Jewelry Television is growing up! I don’t know why, but JTV has been fighting against the home shopping norm—no our-top-today’s-special value and no value-flex-easy pays either. And while they are still stuck on those silly Top of the Hour specials, they are finally dipping their toes into the spread-out-the-payments pool.

Oh yes, chickadees, they are now offering … drum roll please … Stretch Pay! Queen Bea is so proud. So far this seems to be isolated just to the watches. But it’s a start! I have no doubt that the stretch pays will spread like wild fire.

If you're looking for a good watch, check out JTV's Super Saturday Night--there's supposed to be some good specials, FREE shipping (my favorite!), and--of course--Stretch Pay!

Today's Blue Plate Special ... Burn Your Fanny Pack!

QVC’s TSV is a Tignanello Pebble Leather Crossbody Organizer Bag w/ Key Fob. This bag is perfect for travel or keeping your hands free when you’re going to the store with the kids, without resorting to a fanny pack (boo! hiss!). It’s like a high-end leather version of the popular Travelon bags.

Obviously it’s not nearly big enough for me to use on a daily basis—I like purses that are barely small enough to pass as carry-on luggage—but I’d definitely use it for going to a concert or an amusement park. No fanny packs for Queen Bea!

HSN’s TS is the GreenPan with Thermolon Top Choice Set with Bakeware from hottie chef, Todd English, and Wonder Woman, Joy Mangano. I love the idea of the GreenPan line—safe, durable, and can withstand high heat, but there are lots of mixed reviews and complaints that it isn’t really nonstick.

I wonder if maybe they haven’t perfected the technology yet or the manufacturing isn’t consistent. I don’t know, but there has to be a reason that the reviews are all over the board. Like Bob Bowersox, I’ll be sticking with the stainless steel for now. Check out Bob’s acting chops here.
ShopNBC’s OTV is a 14K Gold 18" Gemstone Choice Necklace. This is cute I guess, but the faceted beads remind me of the beaded doorway hangers that were popular in the seventies—think Brady Bunch.

The Bedazzling Heidi Klum

I’ve never been the biggest fan of Heidi Klum’s clover jewelry on QVC (or my boyfriend, Rick Domeier tripping all over his own tongue when he hosts with her!), but she is the reason I have Project Runway and for that I will eternally be grateful. And now all the Project Runway designers are coming to QVC! Read about season 1 winner, Jay, coming soon here. It’s just win-win for Queen Bea!

Anyway, back to the jewelry … Heidi recently said in an interview with FabSugar.com, “I don’t have a formal technique for designing jewelry, I just let myself become inspired by everything around me — vintage designs, trips, etc. The jewelry also reflects my personal style and the pieces I love to wear.

Heidi has also just created a collection for Jordache (read a review here—apparently she forgot that we aren’t all built or paid like supermodels!). And did you know that she has a Birkenstock collection too? Check it out here.

Is there nothing she can’t do??? You know, I’m still not completely convinced that she’s a real person. Anyone who can pop out a baby and turn around and strut down the Victoria’s Secret runway a few short months later just can’t be human.

Did you know that Heidi used to be addicted to the Bedazzler??? "I have always had a very unique sense of style. I love bright colors and bold prints that make a statement. When I was young I was all about be-dazzling! I would be-dazzle everything from jean jackets to bags." It's ok, we all have our dirty little secrets!

You can catch Heidi tomorrow on the Q. Behave yourself, Rick! Queen Bea will be watching ... :-)

It's Beautiful to be Good

Kate Hudson and celebrity hair stylist, David “King of Curl” Babaii, will be on HSN July 3rd through the 5th to unveil their new eco-conscious hair care collection, David Babaii for WildAid.

Ok, well, Kate will sorta be on … she’ll be phoning in her appearance. Under normal circumstances I would rag her for this (Queen Bea can’t stand it when celebs want to pawn their wares, but don’t want to be bothered to show up to do it. Yeah, I’m looking at you, SJP!). But this is for a really good cause, so I’m giving her a pass this time.

David—who was named the “King of Curl” by Vogue--has over a hundred major magazine covers and has worked with everyone from Angelina Jolie to Gwyneth Paltrow. He wanted to create a collection that could make you beautiful without harming the environment or animals.

The products use natural and renewable ingredients like rich Cupuacu butter from the South American Amazon, nutrient rich super volumizing volcanic ash from the Vanuatu islands of the South Pacific, Blue Algae, and Polynesian White Ginger.

Their products are free of sulfates, parabens, petrochemicals, and animal products. And of course, free from all animal testing. They also donate 10% of all profits to WildAid.

WildAid is a non-profit organization that works to reverse the devastation of our planet’s wildlife. Their mission is to end the illegal wildlife trade within our lifetimes, allowing threatened species to recover to safe levels. WildAid’s goal is a world in which local communities can improve their lives without destroying their environment.

Queen Bea is Movin' on Up!

Queen Bea's address has changed from the hand-crampingly long http://www.homeshoppingqueen.blogspot.com/ to the much shorter and finger-friendly http://www.hsqueen.com/

But if you forget, the old address is still supposed to get you here.

Remember HSQueen.com!!! :-)

Today's Blue Plate Specials ... Charm and Luck on the Cheap

HSN has the new--"more affordable"--version of the Charm and Luck bags, Calla, as their TS. Love, love, love the croc look and the rockin' hardware (Queen Bea is not one for small, mealy-mouse purses!).

For only $59, I think the Calla Croco-Embossed Patent Satchel with Studs (wouldn't Lisa Mason at the Q love to get to talk about studs all day!) is a great way to get a super trendy bag without resorting to selling your plasma or hawking your husband's old baseball card collection down at the pawn shop.

Pamela Pekerman over at the My Bag-a-licious Life blog--who is presenting the TS--has been testing out the bag for weeks and gives it raves--especially the steel color. She thought the price was going to be dropped to $49, but it doesn't look like that's gonna happen. Oh well.

ShopNBC has the Creative Vado Pocket Video Cam Package as their OTV. I'm never very good at reviewing the electronics, but this looks like it would be great for vacations and video bloggers. It's small and you plug it straight into the computer to upload. It only has 2x zoom though, which stinks. Queen Bea loves to zoom!

QVC has the long-awaited Judith Ripka Sterling Gemstone & Diamonique Auto-Delivery as their TSV. I talk about this set here and I have links to the new items here.

I also show some pictures of her new high-end Basket Weave Collection here. Hopefully Judith will be doing a QVC version of that soon! Queen Bea really needs that huge, lab-created yellow sapphire ring ... *sigh*

Decorate with Nate

Oprah's favorite interior designer, Nate Berkus, will be bringing his babelicious self to HSN. Nate will will team with Elle Décor for the launch on October 23. This comes on the heels of Nate parting ways with Linens 'n Things.

The new line will initially include textiles, linens, decorative pillows, furniture pieces and accessories, with more to come later.

And don't forget to enter the HSN sweepstakes! One of the prizes is a room makeover consultation in New York City with Nate. Queen Bea would looooove to give Nate a personal consultation ...

Marie Osmond Sets Sights on Sin City

Marie Osmond--QVC's resident doll maker--just performed the last concert in the Osmond Family 50th Anniversary world tour. The tour was the first time the family performed together in 28 years.

Now she's headed to Sin City. According to her brother, Donny, they "just signed a six-month contract to recreate the Donny and Marie show in Las Vegas starting next month."

There's also a salacious unauthorized biography of Marie by Randy Jernigan coming out in September, which alleges all sorts of things ... including a tryst with Andy Gibb. You can read about it here if you want to because I'm not repeating all the tawdry stuff he's alleging.

You can catch Marie on the Q today. I wonder if Marie will start representing Nutrisystem on QVC? It only makes sense.

QVC Denies Tova Foul Play

Mike George, QVC President and CEO, (and reigning QVC King) finally addressed Tova-gate in the most recent online chat. Apparently he has heard our cries of Tova foul play and swears that the fragrance has been fixed.

In a nutshell, last year the formula was changed. No one thought the changes would affect the fragrance. It did. Customers felt hoodwinked and Tova-gate was born.

QVC went back to the original formulation and tried to make amends with the Tova loyalists by sending out a free bottle of the new stuff (with the old formula).

However, not all the Tova customers were convinced that the scent was the same as the original. So,Tova-gate continues. Is the scent really different or is this simply a case of too little, too late???

BTW, just for funsies, check out Tova on The Soup’s Tales from Home Shopping here.

From the June 13th online chat transcript:

Vicki: Can you address what has happened with the Tova Signature fragrance. Many, many customers feel it is a different product than the original and are very vocal about wanting a chance to purchase the product they loved for years.

Mike: Thanks for your question Vicki. We know there are many loyal Tova fans who are very disappointed with the fragrance. Let me give you the background on what happened and what we are doing about it: Last year, the manufacturer of the Tova fragrance made a very slight change in the formulation. They did not think at the time that that change would have any impact on the scent. However, we heard from many customers that they felt the scent had changed. So we and Tova went back and took apart the formulation and concluded that, indeed, we had made a mistake and had inadvertently changed the scent.

We believe this affected her signature product starting around May 2007. We believe we completely corrected the formulation in fall 2007, and at that time notified all the affected customers that they could get a new version of the corrected product on our nickel. Since then, we have continued to receive complaints from customers who feel that the product is not back to its original standard.

We continue to monitor the Tova threads, as we do all threads. There is talk on the forums of a Tova-gate, and underhanded attempts on our part to trick our customers. All I can do is tell you the truth, which is we believe that we have been able to restore the formulation to its original version. This was never done in an attempt to lower the cost. In fact, the cost to make the product has not decreased at all.

We are at somewhat of a loss to understand why some customers feel it has changed. I believe they are totally sincere in their beliefs; we just cant find anything to indicate the product is not back to its original standard, In fact, the majority of customers are satisfied with it. I have had several discussions with Tova over the last year, and I can report to you how upset and disappointed she has been because she loves her customers and is so proud of her 25 year history with this fragrance. So please continue to give us information if you feel the product has changed. We will continue to monitor the situation. But again, all I can tell you is that we are totally committed to the original Tova fragrance and to the best abilities of Tova and the manufacturer, we believe the current fragrance is the same as the original formulation.

Today's Blue Plate Specials ... Hot Leather!

ShopNBC has more summer leather with the Pamela McCoy Zip Front Reptile-Print Leather Jacket. I still don't understand why they keep doing all this leather when we're closing in on the Fourth of July. In fact, Pamela McCoy just had a leather OTV not that long ago! However, this jacket is totally smokin' hawt! In the good way! Queen Bea is drooling ...

HSN's TS is a Gem Essence Interchangeable Gemstone 30" Pendant Watch. My aunt gave me a watch necklace when I was a kid (I think she probably got it from Avon) and I loved it. Like a middle-aged man with his new Rolex, I thought I was so cool and was always looking for an excuse to tell people what time it was.

Anyway, this particular necklace watch seems to be good in theory, but I worry that the chain will break, or the stones will fall out or crack, or the watch will just completely poop out. I don't know. At least it doesn't have anything to do with cleavage.

QVC has a comfy Carole Hochman Capri Pajama Set with Robe as their TSV today. At first, I wasn't particularly impressed. I mean it looked fine, but nothing to write home about. But then I saw the built in bra in the top and it won me over! You can relax and be comfortable without being obscene if someone comes to the door or the air conditioner makes the room a tad to chilly. The girls just need a little extra support while they're lounging!

And don't forget that Barbara Bixby is on today at 6 (Queen Bea does the happy dance!). The only sneak previews I have are here.

Kelly Repassy has Something Cooking

According to her most recent post, Kelly Repassy—former HSN host and fabulous curvy model extraordinaire—is “cookin’ up some ideas with one of the major broadcast networks” and hopes to announce something later this year. Hmmm … does the cookin’ reference mean Food Network?

She also said that we won’t be seeing her “on another shopping channel in the US till next April at least.” I’m sure this has something to do with a non-compete clause she has to wait out. Did you notice how she said U.S. channel? Does that mean she might be showing up in the UK? All you Telly Shopping ladies in the UK need to keep your eyes peeled for Kelly.

Check out her site here. And be sure to register so you can post comments on her message board.

Go Kelly! :-)

HSN After Dark ... Not Safe for Kids or Husbands!

HSN seems to be getting all kinds of risque lately. I was accustomed to the Rhonda "Up All Night!" Shear presentations being a tad ... ummm ... titillating, but Rhonda can get away with it because, well, just cause she's all sorts of awesomeness and I love watching her.

But then Dr. 90210 came skipping into town with his shapewear overflowing with cleavage and his touchy-feely hands all over the models. Yuck. I know being a plastic surgeon he's used to being "hands on," but it's just icky on television.

And now we have IT Cosmetics boobs-in-a-box to get the illusion of big, Texas-sized bazoombas by drawing them on. HSN might attract more viewers with all this gratuitous boobage, but they won't be the kind that actually buy anything. And now I'm beginning to feel a bit inadequate and insecure, which I guess is the idea.

Oh well, Queen Bea is just gonna roll up her boobs and stuff them into her Breezies bra with UltimAir lining and be done with it. Humph!

Judge Makes HSN Sit in the Naughty Seat

Unreal!!! How could this go completely unnoticed? HSN didn't raise a red flag for $32,000 worth of purchases in 6 weeks ... and the credit card company didn't either! Wow! And the most expensive thing she bought was a Dyson vacuum cleaner (Queen Bea would do so much better with $32,000 to blow at HSN).

After no one noticed that she spent $32,000 at HSN, the lady--who is under psychiatric care--called the police herself and reported it pretending to be her 78-year-old boyfriend (it was his credit card that she stole).

The best part is how HSN claimed to be out all the money even if the items were returned in the original packaging ... whatev! That didn't go over well with the judge.

Here's the entire article (emphasis mine):

Judge blasts shopping channel

A Sudbury judge had harsh words for The Home Shopping Network for allowing a local woman to use someone else's credit card to purchase 348 items valued at $32,000 over a six-week period.

Ontario Court Justice Malcolm McLeod criticized the network, saying a red flag should have gone off alerting the staff that something was not right with the dozens of purchases being made by Charlotte Gatchell, 58.

Gatchell pleaded guilty to fraud, but her lawyer told the court that she is under psychiatric care and at the time of the purchases, was not taking her medication. She used her boyfriend's credit card without his knowledge.

The shopping network sold "thousands of dollars worth of junk over the phone to a person who was mentally unbalanced and using someone else's credit card, over a month and half," McLeod said.

"For the Home Shopping Network not to have asked a single question and not to contact anyone," was amazing, he said.

The average purchase price of the items Gatchell bought was about $50, said the judge, with the most expensive being a Dyson vacuum cleaner valued at $549.

In one day alone the network sold Gatchell nine watches, he said.

The judge bristled when told the Shopping Network claimed to be out all but $2,000 of the $32,000 even though it recovered 80 percent of the items. Assistant Crown attorney Natalie Boivin said network officials informed her many of the returned items had no resale value.

The judge pointed out that most of the recovered items were still in their original shipping packages. Those items included watches, Royal Doulton figurines and jewelry. "How they can claim that didn't have resale value is beyond me," he said.

The fraud came to light when Gatchell phoned Greater Sudbury Police pretending to be her boyfriend. Identifying herself as her boyfriend, Gatchell told police that his girlfriend had gone on the Home Shopping Network and had maxed out his credit card but that he was handling the situation and didn't want any police involvement.

The police officer that took the call recognized he was talking to a woman but had no idea what she was talking about, said Boivin.

When a third similar call came in, police went to the man's apartment. Neighbours told them that his girlfriend had taken the 78-year-old to hospital. They also found dozens of packages from the Home Shopping Network.

Boivin said Gatchell also called her boyfriend's bank pretending to be him trying to get the credit limit on his card increased. She also tried to use his RRSP to pay the credit card debt.

When police went to the hospital they learned what had happened.

Given that it was the second time Gatchell had fraudulently used her boyfriend's credit card, Boivin asked for 18-month jail term.

But the judge ruled that given Gatchell's personal circumstances, he would impose the house arrest sentence instead.

During the 18 months of house arrest, Gatchell must be in her home from 6 p. m. each evening until 7 a. m. the next day. She must continue to take counselling and medication and she cannot have contact with her former boyfriend.

Today's Blue Plate Specials ... There's Gold in Them There Hills!

It's gold-is-really-freakin'-expensive-but-we-still-have-to-have Gold Rush Day! The already-gone TSV is Bold Triple Panther Link Bracelet 14K Gold, 10.1g (FYI ... that link will take you to a garden hose!!! That's the way it was on my TSV email, so that's the way I left it!).

I'm guessing they aren't ording huge quantities of anything gold these days, so there might be more sell-outs then usual for gold items. If the braeclet is $468.00 (not including S&H and tax), that comes out to $46.34/gram ... ouch! I'm soooo glad the Q prominantly displayed the gram weight. I wish they did this on everything! I just want to know what I'm paying for. It's not like I can reach through the TV to fell how heavy it is!

HSN has a Fiberbed with Removable Quilted Top as the TS. I don't have much to say about this other then, based on my experience as a mother, the removable top for washing seems to be a really good idea ... the real star of the day is SALE. It's clearance day so be sure to check it out. It'll probably be the last time you see certain collections on air *cough*lukastyle*cough*.

Oh! And make sure you sign up to win the HSN Sweepstakes! That $10,000 custom-made Jean Dousset ring belongs on my greedy little finger!

ShopNBC has the "The Elegance of Gisele" Table Lamp as their OTV. It looks pretty, but by the look on that Gisele lady's face, I think she's totally over holding up that damn lamp!

Technical Difficulties

I'm trying to get everything switched over to the new address--HSQueen.com--and I'm having a few issues with DNS servers and other stuff I know nothing about.

Please be patient, everything should be up and running smoothly very soon!

Hot off the Press! Judith Ripka TSV

Judith Ripka Sterling Gemstone & Diamonique Auto-Delivery

QVC Price: $108.00 (not TSV price)

The price is per enhancer, not for all three.

Item# J38823

You get one enhancer now and one every 90 days.

1st: cross
2nd: heart
3rd: key (of course! it's the best one!)

I love Judith Ripka ... I just don't care for all the hearts, so I'll be taking a pass on this one.

Congratulations Gabrielle!

According to broadcastingcable.com, QVC host-in-training, Gabrielle Abiera has been promoted to host.

Congrats!

You'll Never Believe What's in Bob's Cabinet!

Bob Bowersox is a man of many, many talents. I had no idea. This is an audition for The Interior, which claims to have conducted the world's first completely open, online casting call. I believe this was posted by Bob himself:

You can read Bob's comments about The Interior here.

If you want to watch more of Bob in various acting roles, go to his website here. He has clips posted of all his movie roles ... and he also talks dirty! Oh my. I never thought I'd hear words like that coming out of Bob's mouth. It's just a voice over for a book, but it's just so strange ... like hearing your mom say stuff like that.

You can also listen to him reading part of his book, 48 Hours to a Stronger Marriage: Reconnect with Your Spouse and Re-Energize Your Marriage, here. I know there's all sorts of divorce rumors floating around. And, no, I don't have any answers on that front. But he did write this book because he and his wife, Toni, did have struggles that they worked through.

Today's Blue Plate Specials ... Isomers by the Bucket!

Alright all you devoted Isomers girls ... today's your day! ShopNBC is offering a half liter ... yes, you read that right ... a half liter of Isomers Neck & Chin Firming w/ Essenskin & Ovaliss as their OTV.

Queen Bea would love to take a bath in that firming stuff so she wouldn't have to tuck her boobs into her pants anymore! :-)

Personally, I have issues with redness and have heard rave reviews about the anti-redness serum. I'm hoping it'll come back in stock soon so I can give it a whirl.

HSN has a Perlier Double Your Rice Skin Care Collection as their TS. Honestly, I don't know much about this line, but the reviews seem to be good overall. Make sure you check out the Pre-Birthday Blow Out going on ... lots of clearance deals!

QVC's TSV is a Denim & Co. Set of 3 Stretch Wrinkle Resistant Shirts. At first, I thought the $39.28 price was for one shirt, which would be ridiculous--especially after shipping and taxes are added in. No, it's a set of three shirts, so I guess the price is ok.

I just think that they should have used some of that Hollywood Fashion Tape on the model for that gap between the buttons ... I'm just saying.

BTW, notice the all-new mermaid fairy Kirks Folly? No, they aren't leaving the Q.

Upcoming Ripka and Bixby!

The pictures aren't up yet, but keep checking! Thanks to all the incredible Ripka and Bixby fans for digging these up:

Judith Ripka 6/27/08 (no word on the TSV yet!)

If you know any more that I missed, please leave a comment! :-)

Queen Bea's Clearance Rack ... Everything Must Go!

I added a link on the right-hand bar of the homepage for Coupon Codes. I love, love, love coupon codes!!! I'm going to try to keep an up-to-date list of all the coupon codes for all the home shopping channels (except one ... *cough*qvc*cough* who doesn't believe in them--whatev!).

But I'm going to need your help, chickadees!!! Please, please, please let me know if you find one that doesn't work or if you run across a new one. All you have to do is drop me an email or leave a comment.

I spend alot of time trying to find all these codes and I just can't do it alone. I know you know what it's like ... Googling hsn+coupon+code ten different ways only to come up with the same stupid links ... scanning through endless coupon sites only to find expired codes or codes only for new customers ... trolling through message boards looking for someone, anyone who knows anything ...

So lets all help each other out, ok? :-)

BTW, be sure to sign up for Mr. Rebates or Ebates ... they work!!!

Call Security! Lisa Robertson and the Case of the Stolen Dress

Old Beauty Queen Photo Just for Funsies! :-)

So Lisa Robertson looked stunning last night during the Appatite Gem Day Show ... however, she was having a little issue with the big plastic security tag still being attached to her dress.

Check out the video for item# J26162 here. You can see it when she lifts her arm. How funny! :-)
